I am writing this review on a house that I rented for 1 year from Town and Country Realty. Below is text copied and pasted from the email I received regarding the return of my $1790.00 deposit. Was I charged for not cleaning out the refrigerator or cleaning the bathroom? Dusting the floorboards or leaving trash behind? Nope. Below are some of the most ridiculous charges for you to read for yourself. Contract also requires exterior of home to be hosed off yearly. Cost is $35x3=$105.00 Interior & Exterior Windows plus french door dirty. Clean all windows and sills and tracks - 14 interior windows and two glass doors (runs an hour per window to wash) 16x35=560 - Rental Application & Lease Contract required all the windows to be cleaned every year. $560 Rent from first month's prorate still owing. Waiving 30% late fee with conditions 375.32x.30=$112.596 Was going to charge me $112 for first months rent that she said I hadn’t paid. Sent her canceled check and bank statement that showed it had been paid. I didn’t charge her 30% although I had to wait several weeks to get the $375.32 back. Only two keys returned at move out. Tenant was given 3 at move in. Cost to rekey is $75. All 3 keys were actually returned. Interior & exterior Light fixtures needed cleaning -6x17.50= $105 Burner drip pans were the wrong style - had to purchase the correct ones. $7.29x4=$29.16 – These were the drip pans that were there when I moved in. Two air returns for the Heater were dirty and needed vacuuming. Charging 1/2 hour to clean them. $17.50 Know that you will lose half if not all of your deposit when you rent from this company. http://www.t-crealty.com/ You will sign a huge renters agreement-over 50 pages. She will take you to court if you dispute these charges. On the back of the returned deposit check that you do receive she has stamped the check saying that if you sign the check for deposit into your account you can not bring legal action against the company.
