On 3/31/05 I signed a contract to purchase a 2005 Toyota Prius from Toyota of Louisville. At that time I made a down payment of $12,000. The salesperson advised that the car would be in "any day now".

Two weeks later on Friday 4/15/05, the salesperson advised that the car was "on ground" and it would be in "within the next couple of days". Friday and Sat past and he did not call back. On Sun 4/17/05, a friend of mine called and advised that he just purchase a Prius from Toyota of Louisville. He paid the entire amount for the car. I went to look at the car and found that it was the one I ordered according to the Vehicle ID Number.

I talked to the salesperson by phone and he advised me that an error was made and a different salesperson had sold my car to Mr. Walker. On Monday 4/17/05, I talked to the general manager, he advised that the error was made and he would sell me another veh. similar to the one I ordered. That car was not on the lot. I did not accept the car because it was used at the auto show. It appears that they sold Mr.Walker my car because it was on the lot that Sun. and they were going to sell me a different car that was not on the lot that Sun. The general manager was very polite and gave me back my down payment.

I have already notified the Better Business Bureau concerning their actions.

Abrey pitts of Toyota of LOUISVILLE is the biggest jerk that ever walked the lot of a dealership. I eventually ended up having to walk out of his office...did I mention that HE was trying to sell me something and ended up calling the person i came with (who drove me to the dealership) names! It was unreal? I was quite close to buying the car and the person I came with had a question and he told her to 'be quiet' as the sale was between me and he and not her? JERK, JERK, JERK! Dont go there he will try that slick talking if it was not for her I would have made a HUGE mistake!

Some Friend. Typical car dealer. They figured they could sell two vehicles.

I'll bet you were telling your friend all about "your" Prius from Toyota of Louisville. Typical car dealer. They figured they could sell two vehicles. Since you waited this long, you'd wait a little longer and they had your $12,000 deposit. I don't know how much use it could get at an auto show but I'd still tell them to go screw themselves for selling your car out from under you. Same goes for your "friend". I hope you got your $50 or $100 referral fee. Check around on the internet for dealers in your area to see who has the car.
