I was sold a used 2002 Honda Accord by Toyota of Roswell in Sept. 07. A month or so after I bought the car, the brakes went bad, and I had to spend $500 to fix them. Also, the car had new tires, but the stems were old and had not been changed. I had to spend $200 on new tires because of the fact that the stems were bad. I asked Toyota to reimburse me for these expenses, but they said they will not do so.

Starting in the Summer of 2008, I started having flat tires, one at a time. All 4 tires went flat at different times, due to the fact that the stems were never changed when the tires were. Within a 3 month period, all 4 tires went flat! I was stranded a few times, and thankfully I had emergency road service, or I would have had a few more problems on my hands. All of this was a major hassle!

I called Toyota of Roswell, and I spoke to Greg Lindley, one of the managers. I spoke to Greg twice. He said he would talk to Kevin Wheat, his manager, but I later found out that Greg never did speak to him at all!

I finally spoke to Kevin Wheat, and he said Jerry Gresham was the owner of Toyota of Roswell when I bought my car. Since then, Jerry sold the car to Nalley Cars, and Jerry is now the owner of Toyota South, in Morrow, Ga.

Kevin said he talked to Jerry at Toyota South about the situation, and Jerry said he would not be able to help me out. Jerry dealership was the one who sold me the faulty car when he was the owner of Toyota of Roswell, but now he is assuming no responsibility of reimbursing me for my expenses. Kevin also said he, himself, cannot help me out.

I also spoke to Gary Marrota, manager at Toyota South, and he said they could not help me.

This is a classic case of no one assuming responsibility for the problem that I encountered! It was their fault for the faulty car they sold me, but they are not willing to do the right thing.

I bought my last 2 cars from Toyota of Roswell, but I will buy my next car from their competitor, Honda. Whether you guys agree or disagree that I should have even written this report, I have the choice to buy from a company that offers me the best service, and I believe Honda will treat me better than Toyota has!

Toyota has lost a long-time customer because of actions on their part! For the future,I want to encourage everyone to buy a Honda, instead of a Toyota! I especially want to encourage everyone NOT to buy a car from Toyota of Roswell (in Roswell, Ga.) or Toyota South (in Morrow, Ga.).

It is your responsibility to check out a used car before purchasing it. No doubt you signed the common form that states the car is sold "as is" with no warranty. Unless you have a contract that states otherwise, anything that goes wrong with it after you drive off the lot is your problem. That's the deal when you buy a used car with no warranty. That's also why I tell anyone who asks that they should have a used car inspected before plunking down their cash. Who trusts used car salesmen? A cursory inspection of the brake system would have saved you $500 right off the bat. I'm a little confused about the tire problem, though. You state that the tires were new when you bought the car, but that the valve stems were old and leaky. Why would that cause you to have to buy new tires? Why not just replace all 4 valve stems at a few bucks apiece? By the way, I'm not sure how you know that the valve stems were old and not replaced with the tires (that would be very unusual). On the other hand, there was a massive problem in the tire industry in the past couple of years with millions of defective Chinese valve stems that had made their way into the system. I know three people that had the same problem as you did after buying new tires. The valve stems were replaced with good ones and they went on their way. No one had to buy new tires.

Whether you are considering a NEW, or USED Toyota vehicle, you may want to consider this- If the representative at a Toyota dealership DOES NOT inform you of the fact that Toyota Corporation has RECOGNIZED that some of their Toyota vehicles are prone to sludging, then you are being MISLED by that dealership, and by Toyota, correct? TOYOTA CORPORATION actually SETTLED a case regarding engines that SLUDGED!!! Simply 'GOOGLE' this- ENGINE SLUDGE, and go to the consumeraffairs website, or the other websites about the TOYOTA SETTLEMENT and read about it! Also keep in mind that there are now Toyota vehicles that are SLUDGING that were NOT INCLUDED in that SETTLEMENT! QUESTION: Do YOU want to take a CHANCE and buy ANY TOYOTA, knowing that their engines are SLUDGING, and AIRBAGS are NOT DEPLOYING in many Toyota vehicles??? How could ANYONE in their RIGHT MIND ever want to take a chance & buy ANY TOYOTA????!!!!! YOUR LIFE COULD BE IN DANGER if your AIRBAGS DON'T DEPLOY if you're in an accident, CORRECT? SPREAD THE WORD ALL OVER THE WORLDWIDE WEB! Put the word out EVERYWHERE! Put it at Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, EVERYWHERE!!!! Do it EVERYDAY!!! DON'T STOP!!!! You might save someone's life!!!!!!! Have them come here to ripoffreport.com EXPOSE TOYOTA all over the WORLDWIDE WEB!!!! Thank you. I'm Karl, and I approve this Update! More poems coming soon! STAY TUNED!
