When looking through my dad's credit card statements to help him with his finances, we noticed a $25 charge on his account from Travelers Innovations. Being that we closed this card recently to try an consolidate his debt, I found it suspicious. I spent a half hour grilling him on wether he remembered anyone calling and offering a membership or if he gave out his credit card number to anyone. He swore he remembered nothing. Well, now after finding this website, I realize he was right. When we called the company, which, by the way, did not leave a phone number on the credit card bill and also sent no information from their company on what you supposedly purchased for the $25, they said they would not charge him in the next month. When asked about the current charge, they said they would not waive it. Well, the next step was to call teh credit card company. I am not sure how this will turn out, but I will post when I find out. On that note, how is it possible these rip off artists get your card number when you do not give it to them, and secondly, why are they not arrested for comitting blatent fraud!?

FYI - this company was shut down by their bank. I have heard they are in the process of finding a new one. Just thought I would let you know.

Its the first time they charged the account

In response to your question Holly, this is the first time they charged his card. He actually has had the card for a while. I am not sure how long, but if the charges stemmed from when he first got the card, I believe they would have shown in the past. I am having a difficult time understanding how they did what they did, but I am sure with a fast talking telemarketer, they may have gotten my father to agree to somehting they were selling. I am certain he did not give them his card number though. This is what perplexes me the most. Thanks for your questions.

How long have they been charging your father?

Robert, I am looking into this company and have a few questions for you. Is this the first time they charged your father or were there prior charges? Was the charge before or after your father closed the account? Was this a newly opened account to where a promotion could have been tied to it? Please respond. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

to charge something to an account they would need to have a connection to the credit card company itself... it probably came when the card was applied for... a promotion, etc. if it is true that they did not ever contact your dad or get his account number then it would have to go through the credit card company and they would have all the information. if the card company is reputable they will find out the answer and refund your money... hope it works out for you...
