Tribal Financial Services & Consultants SCAM/FRAUD/WHATEVER U WANT TO CALL IT! Emeryville California
I received a letter in the mail telling me that I won $57,000 and enclosed was a check for $3,962.55 to cover the taxes and fees. It said I was randomly selected from a computerized balot from Publisher's Clearing House and Reader's Digest. I dont normally believe these things in the first place, but the letter seemed so legitimate. The letter asked me to call Christina Edwards, my agent, by December 09, 2008 to claim my money. I did. I first asked what the catch was. She said there is none, all I needed to do was go to my bank and cash the check. I didnt need to deposit it, just cash it. She advised me that then they would send me my check for $57,000. She also advised me to keep the check for $3,962.55 separate and dont touch it for when I have to file taxes. She congradulated me for winning and told me to call back once I had cashed this check so they could start the process of the rest of my winnings. I was so excited I called my best friend. She went online to WellsFargo, BBB, and then finally typed in the business info under google and found out it was all a scam!!!! We reported it to our local news channel but they just laughed and said there were hundreds of them going around and he would pass it on to the news crew, but he never took any info about the company. This is WRONG!!! I almost went and cashed this check!! And on top of it, I found info where it said the "comapny" traces ur bank account info and takes money out of ur account by you cashing their check. PLEASE NO ONE FALL FOR THIS!!!!! Something needs to be done! Someone has to stop these people!!
