Ripoffed of in Salina Kansas. Local area truck rental. Rented truck on evening of July 8th 2005 for weekend local movement of items from storage shed. Returned on Monday July 11th as agreed upon at time of rental. Cost of $248.51 included $100 deposit of which I was told would be returned upon truck return was paid by personal check. That was July 11 and today Aug 30 I have yet to receive the deposit. Dayless have been phoned four times, talked with two different individuals (last one Deanna) which stated they would check into it and return my call.

They will not return phone calls. I notified the Regional Manager 1-800-232-4074 ext. 503 and left a message for him to call me. Took four days and he called and took the information and stated he would research the information that day and call back. That was two weeks ago and still no word. No calls no return of deposit. Dayless Car Rental basically is a Payday Loan Office with the U-Haul Biz apparantly a sideline even though the big U-Haul signs are in front of the bisiness, they do not seem concerned about U-Haul customers.

When I leased the truck they pointed me in the direction it was parked. When I found the truck it had a U-Haul trailer attacted. I returned to the office and asked the clerk if they would remove the trailer and she stated she would send someone out to do it. Fifteen minutes latter a gentleman came out and asked why I didn't unhitch it myself.... I told asked him shouldn't that be part of your duties. He said no more and unhitched the truck. Another thing was the clerk told me there would be no milege charges since it was for a local move and they did not write down the mileage at that time. When I asked "Deanna" what the hold-up was on the return of the deposit she informed me they had to subtract the mileage from the deposit. I asked how since I was told there would not be a charge and that they did not write the mileage down... I have used other U-Haul vehicles in my business over the years and assure you this will be the last. Though $100 may not seem like a large amount it is the principal and lack of professionalism of this company I detest. Also I wonder if this outfit rents locally with out U-Haul's knowledge to add money to their till and omit U-Haul's percentage???? Perhaps this is the reason the regional manager has not returned my call.
