I would tell this agency this flat out . I will only communicate with the original creditor not you. The next time you contact me at my employment I will report you it is against the law for a bill collector to call you at work

CoopMag:
More than likely your account from CitiCard was sold to United Collection Bureau.
Your account with CitiCard was more than likely sold off, especially if you went 6 months or more without making a payment.
If this is the case you must deal directly with them, and not CitiCard. I would call CitiCard back and verify if they just placed the account with them for collections, or if United collection Bureau actually bought the debt.
The answer given will determine your fate.
If they placed you in collections, but CitiCard still owns the debt, then they would need CitiCard to file suit with you.
If they sold the debt to United Collection Bureau, then they can file suit against you themselves.
your failure to work with them could force them to file suit against you. BEWARE, in the State of Flordia, wage garnishments are legal.
