BEWARE OF UPS!

On August 17th, 2004, our company, T Computer Warehouse, Inc., located at 2022 Central Avenue, shipped 2 brand new Toshiba laptops from our business through UPS. The UPS driver witnessed us package and weigh both laptops, and put them in one larger box. Over the next 2 days, the order for the laptops was cancelled. We called the UPS office on Mid-America Boulevard, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and advised them that we needed to pick up the shipment before it left.

They stated that they still had the laptops in their security department, and that we could retrieve the items. We arrived at UPS, a UPS employee loaded the box, and we left the premises. When we returned the laptops for credit to our vendor, we realized that one of the 2 new laptop boxes was empty. One of the laptops had been removed from the factory sealed box. The laptops had not been anywhere but the UPS facility. We advised UPS employees Phil and Randy, of the problem. They were basically condescending to us and stated that they could do nothing and would not honor the insurance we had purchased on the laptops. The inside of the factory sealed box was filled with dirty fingerprints. UPS still declined to help us in anyway. We want this resolved by either honoring our insurance, or returning our laptop.

Laura, Stop dealing with UPS and call the cops immediately! If there are indeed fingerprints on the inside of the factory box, then that can be used as evidence of the theft. Give the police an accurate report without emotion. Present them the box for evidence. Direct them to the UPS facility where you retreived your merchandise. Let us know what happens.
