Unity (The Nations Charity Lottery), Guest Systems Is very much like scam 419. Sent me a check which when verified with company and bank was fraudulent. Centre-ville, Montreal Quebec Canada
I don't trust putting my personal information on the Internet. So to fill out an on-line survey I used an alias. Little did I know because I put my real address that 5 months later I would receive a check for $2,480.00 and a letter stating that I had won a drawing from the International Promotions Program in the amount of $47,950.00! I had to call before Sept. 5Th. My winnings were deposited with them and insured in my name, and the check I had been sent was to cover clearing fees. I was also given the number (450)675-4763 and said to speak with Nadia Charbonneau ( she also answered the phone as this person) who would guide me through my claims process. She would also advise me as to when I could expect my final check for $45,470.00.
Well after calling this woman under my alias (of course) I was told that my winnings were with a tax attorney in Washington and I would be contacted. I was never asked a phone number so I assumed I was to be contacted again by mail. She then told me congratulations that all I had to do was pay taxes at the end of the year on my winnings and to pay the tax attorney as well. She also told me that in 20 minutes I could go to my bank, deposit the check, and within 3 business days the funds would be verified and my other check would be sent by this attorney by certified mail.
Being skeptic, I did more homework. Apparently Unity doesn't send people checks they send money directly to a charity chosen directly by the person. The check given looks very real with watermark and security features but was not issued by Guest Supply (SYSCO company) and when calling the bank PNC Bank in PA, the check number does not exist (10211825). When I called back to speak to the lady and told her the check was a fraud she hung up!
