I originally started the Universal Accounting course back in February 2018. I signed up for the Professional Bookkeeper Program (PB) and Professional Guide to Quickbooks Program (PBG).

The contract lists- PB/PBG/PTP Guarantee- If, after completing the course you feel the course didn’t live up to your expectations simply return all materials to Universal Accounting Center for 100% refund of any monies paid.

I contacted the school on 8/25/18 and told them I was returning the program because it didn’t live up to my expectations.

I was told in order to get a refund I would have to complete the entire programs all the activities, tests and videos. On 9/12/18 I re-contacted the school to let them know that I had completed everything in the program and would like a return authorization (RA) so I can return the program.

I was given an RA and told since I missed my payment back in March I would be denied a refund. I reminded the rep at the Tuition department on June 20 I signed a new agreement when my monthly payments were reduced to a more manageable monthly amount for me.

The updated agreement states ‘To replace a prior agreement and extend payment terms as agreed to between myself and UAC for prior purchase of materials. Any Coaching and Testing Services that I purchased with the original contract will continue to be provided by UAC.” 

I stated under the updated agreement I wasn’t late on any payments and the agreement itself listed that it replaces a prior agreement. I was told the previous agreement was still valid and since I missed the payment back in March I would still be denied a refund.

NOTHING on this contract states the previous terms of the contract signed in Feb makes a refund void as a matter of fact their own contact clearly states that it replaces a prior agreement.

I've filed a complaint against them with the Better Business Bureau. Don't get involved with this company. During the time I was working on the course I submitted questions 3 times on average before it was answered--- and sometimes the question was never answered. I always got the same excuse when I asked why does it take so long to answer my questions. I kept being told that my emails were basically lost in their system... isn't it funny my questions about the course kept getting lost but my payments for the course were never lost.
