I understand your frustration. I am going through the same battle right now. After three weeks I was turned over to a collection agency and the university contacted me no more. I like you don't have the phone calls recorded either and I wish I did. I do however communications in the form of emails since I started. So that is somewhat useful. Best of luck to you man. If you hear of a lawsuit please let me know as well.
