I sat down with the PT sales person in October, and after repeatedly saying the 150 dollar a month fee was out of my budget, the convinced me to sign up under the condition I could bring my sister and we could split the cost.

After 2 or 3 months, my sister stopped going with me, but since it was on my account, I was still stuck with the contract. Fast forward 3 months later to march. My husband is jobless and we have to move to a new apartment that is more expensive and comes with a down payment as well. I go to urban active and say hey, my husband is recently out of work, I can no longer afford this on my nurse aide salary.

This is march 31st. They say I have to pay 274 dollars to cancel. Mind you, I hadn't been in a month because of work, so I had 18 unused sessions in my bank that I paid for. I asked if I forfeit all those already paid for sessions, could I not pay the 274? He said, no, because after you pay the 274 you will forfeit them anyway, so try to use them up before April 12, which is when I would need to cancel in order not to be billed for the month.

When I signed up I paid te first and last month, so 300 dollars. I paid for a month I will never use, and paid for 18 sessions I have to give up, along with 274 dollars. Is this legal? I'm seriously fuming mad about this. There MUST be a way to get out of this, because I am getting raped with these charges.
