Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I contracted these guys for a local move (20 minutes) from a 3-BR apt. The rate was originally quoted as $90/hr rate with no minimum hrs. I asked them about Piano moving or extra charges for it but got only very ambiguous answer. At pickup they insisted on extra $400 for Piano. I would have been ok with that, but wait, that $400 does not even include at least another $500 in charges for the time and all the excessive packing charges that they demanded ultimately. Similarly, I told them that there is no need for shrink wrap/taping for such a short distance -- just putting blankets on furniture should be adequate. Again, no clear response before the move but then excessive wrapping/taping and humongous charges. They even charged for "renting" blankets that are almost always free. The driver was extremely abusive and mean to the men working and kept telling them to wrap this and that every time I got out of sight. Although the two men were very honest, nice and working hard, the driver was whiling away his time and trying to delay things. Here he charged so much for Piano but the idiot did not even have the proper allen wrench. He asked me for a ride to buy one, purchased the wrong one (in spite of my asking) and then went out again. It is clear that his only job was to make money for the company, and it is clear that all this is being done with full cooperation of this company.

At the other end, the driver told us that the contract says that they will not unload anything until he sits down calculates the bill and is fully paid. He came up with $2871 for this move -- I have never paid that much for a local move or even suspected that it could be so high. He chalked up 8hrs of time at $90/hr + $1500 in tape, shrinking wrap and other supplies (even though I didn't ask them for even one box) + all sorts of surcharges. The charges were never explained. I was just told that they used so much of the stuff at so much cost -- no chance for me to verify if he just made up the numbers (which he clearly did). The driver was extremely abusive, refused to answer any questions, and told us to call the office if we wanted to talk to anybody. Ultimately when I refused to sign the papers under duress to say that everything was delivered w/o damage, he did not give ANY paperwork at all. All attempts to contact this company so far have been futile. It is clear that this is their mode of business -- completely rip off the customer while they can, and then completely ignore any attempt at contact.

PLEASE spread the word and DO NOT EVER use this company. They are a bunch of highly abusive extortionists -- they are running a scam not business. Even otherwise, after having a very bad long-distance moving experience 2 years ago, here is my advice to ANYONE who will listen before you realize that you really should have listened to this cardinal truth:

DO NOT pay for moving anything unless it is really and truly irreplaceable. Furniture: forget it. Just have a garage sale and be happy to get whatever you get. When you arrive at the new place, you will have the pleasure of buying new furniture and actually save money in most cases! DO NOT give any business to any mover at all. They are ALL A BUNCH OF CROOKS, going by my experiences. There is nothing I would like better than to have most of these guys go out of business and only then the remaining ones will hopefully mend their ways.
