In September '08 I saw an infomercial for USMAC with Christian M. Dillon attorney at law for a loan modification. It sounded like just what I needed to help me hold onto my home and avoid foreclosure. I called the number 800-485-8055 and spoke with Su Simon who assured me that Christian Dillon could help me in my situation. I explained to her how desperate I was and that I didn't want to lose my home. I could not afford the 3495.00 it required to hire Christian Dillon. She explained to me that I should stop making my mortgage payments to Indymac because if I was current they would not work with us to get my loan modified and by not sending my mortgage payment I could then afford to hire the attorney. She assured me that I had nothing to lose because if Mr. Dillon could not help me I would get my money refunded, although that does not appear in any of the paperwork they send you. The attorney/client paperwork actually states All fees paid are nonrefundable. When I asked about this she once again assured me that absolutely if they could not work out a loan modification I would get my 3495. back.

Once they received my money and paperwork I was left in the dark to wonder what was happening with my case. Each time I called them I either got voicemail or if I was so lucky to actually speak to a real person their answer was always the same. No new news to report, it'll probably be another 30 days. Time went on and now I've received a Notice of Default from my mortgage company. When I called to find out what the heck they've been doing all this time they told me not to worry I still had time to get my loan modified. I called Indymac directly and was told the only thing USMAC had actually done was sent them my initial paperwork. My mortgage company told me that they don't even do loan modifications through third parties such as USMAC and that I didn't even qualify for any of their programs.

Long story short this company is a scam. They only want your money and once they've got it you're screwed. When you call to try to get your money refunded what do you know, they don't return your calls. Please beware you will lose your money and your home if you trust these people. I only wish someone would have warned me.

After reading about them how could you second guess yourself? I almost went with them but they have been inconsistent with me and telling me different things. They said If i am not satisfied they would return my money, when I get their so-called contract it was a totally different story. Everyone please save yourself from this hassle. Not worth it!

I am trying to decide whether I should trust in USMAC Law to represent me in a loan mod with my bank. But after reading many articles on them I am second guessing their trust worthiness. Does any one have any recent experience in dealing with them and with whom to substantiate their truth and honesty?

Truth behind USMAC/Law offices of Christian Dillon

#4UPDATE Employee

Fri, April 17, 2009

Christian Dillon does not do anything but is a front or an employee to say they are a law office. Scott Gimble (also known as Scott S) is the real owner. He is what you would expect a crook they do not care who they help or if they do help anyone. The only reason they have a lawyer is to collect the money upfront and say its retainer for the Lawyer and they will not need to refund your money. Christian Dillon is actually a salaried employee nothing more.
