On July 5, 2007, we attended a presentation of the RCI points program at the Vacation Resort Group Office in Broomfield, CO. The details of the sale were explained by Mick Dagnillo. After we agreed to purchase, the contract details were handled by Ryan Meston.

During the sales presentation, we were told that we were buying property that would be deeded. We paid money down and financed the remainder. We were told that it would be a mortgage with tax deductible interest. We were also told that we would receive a copy of our deed and our membership to RCI within 60 days.

In late July we received a payment book from the lender and began making monthly payments of in August.

Starting in November, when we still had not received any information regarding RCI membership details, we made several phone calls and a couple of additional visits to the VRG office in Broomfield regarding this issue. We spoke again with Mick and Ryan, and finally in late March with Todd Kaplan to attempt to get this resolved. However, quite often we left messages that were not returned and only through our persistence in calling or showing up there were we able to speak with someone. The customer service we have experienced is not impressive. We were referred to the Corporate Office in Chicago and after several messages, had only one civil conversation with one person there. Previous calls have either not been returned or as in one occasion, a lady named Amber actually hung up twice.

We were also quite upset when we started to do our 2007 taxes to learn from the lender that this was an unsecured consumer loan and that the interest is not tax deductible. This was misrepresented to us in the sales presentation.

In mid April of 2008, believing that this issue is not even close to being resolved and being fed up with the frustration we have experienced, we left messages and emails requesting that our contract be cancelled and that all of our money be returned. Still no one returns our calls, and our emails are now being returned as undeliverable (they are being blocked).

We have in good faith paid all monthly payments to the lender. After nearly a year and paying in excess of $2,500 including the down payment, we had received no benefits whatsoever.

We are now getting billed by Vacation Resorts International for our RCI membership, and fees for the property, but still have no RCI membership.

We have contacted The Owners Advocate to see if they can help. Does anyone have any experience with them?

I also was interested in The Owner's Advocate, I'd been interested if anyone has had luck with them. I'm one the people screwed over by Wyndham but I'm so gunshy, I'm afraid to contract with anyone..

Hi - I was thinking about going with Owner's advocate... did you ever utilize their services?
