Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I want to first say, I am EXTREMELY happy that there is a site like this for us consumers to relate to or express our angers on products, services and sales that wrong us.

Approximately 3 years ago...I purchased a living room set like their showcase of their American Signature ($2200) they had on the front floor as you walked in. It was a microfiber/suede beige, down, feathered couch and loveseat. I did not buy the ottoman. I didn't buy their tables they showcased..I picked out my own. A different style through them.

Before buying the furniture and walking around and testing everything out for durability etc...not one person greeted me or asked me if I needed any help. I ended up finally chasing someone down and the man gave me his pointer finger in the air...

So finally, I got a woman who was quite haughty with me and seemed to be rushing me or to get me out the door. So I just took care of business, but before I signed anything she asked me, "do you want the warranty for the furniture?" I said WHAT DOES IT COVER? She responded w/ telling me that it was a 7 year warranty that PROTECTED: rips, tears, stains, pet stains, human stains, cushions, the normal wear and tear in the cushions..I interrupted her and said, so if the cushions wear out do you replace them w/ this warranty. She said yes. She also said, the warranty covers accidental burns as well. (i.e. cigarette burns) I said okay and took the warranty.

When the couches arrived, they were missing all the accent pillows that came with it. The delivery men were late (that is so normal but do you think they care what we have to do during the day while we wait on them?? we have lives...) they slammed the couches around on my hardwood floors leaving scratches and indents in my newly refurbished floors. I asked where the pillows were and they looked at me like they were mentally...so I told them, I do not studder...do you understand that there were supposed to be 8 pillows? The guy said I'd have to call the customer service desk at the store where I purchased them. I did..in front of them. The lady apologized and told me she would mail them immediately. 6 days later..I got the pillows, they weren't even the right color beige, nor where they the pillows that were supposed to be on the set. I never did get anywhere w/ the lady. SHE was quite rude and snotty. She was lucky I didn't drive over there myself and stare her down with my mean and unkind words.

Then, 4 months passed...I had company over. The gentleman over smoked. His cherry to his cigarette fell and hit the very edge of my cushion on my couch. It left small burn marks. I called Value City and reported the incident. The woman gave me the run around and then told me to call the warranty department. After repeating the same thing to this other lady...she tells me to MAIL IN MY ORIGINAL RECEIPT!!! ??? WTH?? I asked her...don't you have that in the computer? She told me no that I had to call back the store and get a copy of it faxed over to the warranty department. I did, the lady from the store told me she did it, but it NEVER was faxed and my cushion was never repaired or replaced. Nice huh?

Oh, there's more...so then a year and a half passes. I accidentally spilled a couple drops of soda on the cushion of the loveseat. I report that one too..nothing, no one came out, nothing happened...I received 2 bottles of cleaner in the mail and directions on how to clean my stain. Followed the manual directions. Still the stain.

So a week later I have a professional steaming company come over and pay them $110.99 to steam the couches and have them scotch guarded again. The man cleaning them says to me, have you ever noticed the seams are coming undone on your couches? I said no, where? He shows me. I report it to VCF. They tell me MY 7 YEAR WARRANTY THAT I PURCHASED, DOES NOT COVER THAT AND THAT MY WARRANTY ONLY COVERS LIMITED THINGS.

I PAID FOR A WARRANTY THAT I NEVER GOT TO USE. THEY ATE UP MY CASH ON THAT ONE!

THE CUSHIONS AND SPRINGS ARE SUNKEN IN SO BAD AND I HAVE ONLY HAD THESE COUCHES NOW CLOSE TO GOING ON 4 YEARS?? I HAVE A PIECE OF PLY WOOD HOLDING THE CUSHION UP. I SERIOUSLY WANT TO SUE THE COMPANY... THE BACK CUSHIONS WHERE YOU REST YOUR BACK HAVE UNRAVELED AND I WON'T SEW IT, I DON'T WANT TO FIX IT CAUSE THEN THEY WILL SAY WOW, YOU DID THIS...BOY DID I GET SCREWED OVER WITH A PILE OF BEIGE JUNK IN MY LIVING ROOM.

ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERING PURCHASING FROM THEM..DON'T..THEY ARE GOING TO FALL UNDER AND THAT IS WHY MOST OF THE STORES ARE CLOSING. THEY SUCK ROYAL IN CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY LIE TO MAKE A SALE. THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTIES. THE QUALITY OF THE FURNITURE IS LIKE HAVING A KID IN WOOD SHOP MAKE IT FOR A GRADE TO PASS..

I WISH YOU ALL COULD SEE MY COMPANY THAT VISITS FACES WHEN I SHOW THEM THE PLY WOOD HOLDING UP MY CUSHIONS..ITS SO SAD. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM..SAVE YOUR MONEY AND INVEST IN SOMETHING WORTH THE DOLLAR...

NEVER BUY FROM VCF. WHAT A WASTE. COUCHES SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 2 YEARS...

IN THE MEANTIME BEFORE ALL THIS HAPPENED, OR MORE LIKE BEFORE I DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS JUNK I PURCHASED, I HAD ACTUALLY PURCHASED BUNK BEDS FROM THEM AND THEY WERE BROKEN WHEN I GOT THEM, I HIRED A CARPENTER TO FIX THEM SO THEY WOULD BE STURDY ENOUGH FOR MY KIDS TO SLEEP ON WITHOUT FALLING OFF AND DYING OR BREAKING THEIR NECKS...WOW, ANOTHER LAWSUIT RIGHT THERE!!! DID YOU THINK THEY HONORED THAT WARRANTY EITHER?? NOPE NOTHING!

ANYONE WHO WANTS TO KNOW MORE..JUST ASK..HECK, COME BY I'LL SHOW YOU PERSONALLY!!

I know exactly what you're dealing with with these people. They are a joke. I also purchased a very expensive living room set from VCF some years ago. It was Kroehler, so I THOUGHT I was buying quality - HA! Everything VCF sells is crap. It does fall apart right away. The frame on our sofa broke in less than a year, and this is with normal wear and tear. We aren't big people, we didn't jump on it or move it, we don't have kids...it just broke one day and we noticed that it was sitting on the floor on one side (not on the legs as it's supposed to.) After many phone calls and waiting, they picked it up, took it back to their shop and repaired it and brought it back. That took about 2 weeks. It was fine for another 6 months, then it broke again. Same story over and over. Plus, when we bought the sofa and loveseat, we bought a set of tables. I picked them right out of the showroom. They gave me the runaround about delivering them, saying they weren't in stock, but they were "in our warehouse in Indianapolis" and would be coming in within the week. A week passes, nothing. Another week passes, nothing...another week passes. Finally, after my 4-5th call to the office with the same story (I mean, how long does it take for something to get to Cincinnati from the Indy office, only 90 minutes away?). I got the same lame explanation "they're in our Indy warehouse, but they're on the way". Yeah right. Finally, I told the guy, "Look, I've heard this crap for three weeks now. I don't need tables in your warehouse, I NEED THEM IN MY LIVING ROOM!" I told him I was coming up there and he was giving me a set of tables and I wasn't leaving without them. Miraculously, by the time I got there, the phantom "truck from the Indy warehouse" had materialized and I got my tables. That was the last purchase from VCF. I buy quality furniture now. Lesson learned.
