Price Holds are not really a typical layaway. The merchandise is not ordered from the distribution center until the balance of the merchandise is paid n full. Obviously these stores are not capable of storing all the Price Hold merchandise in a back room, furniture tends to be very large. The price is locked in from the point of sale, now 2,3,4 ok lets say 5 months later this merchandise may not be available in the distribution center, or the merchandise may be discontinued, or they may have discontinued one particular style and reintroduced a new style. I dont see how the item was different to the tune of 400 bucks. I think you either made a mistake and thought you picked something when you really picked something else, which can happen, or the salesperson wrote the wrong item down which would be an honest mistake if you were showing interest in different groups. Or the merchandise was tagged incorrectly in which the store would be responsible for the error, but it doesnt take 5 months to make tagging corrections. Something sounds fishy about this. I would just be more careful in the future and make double sure by way of your receipt you are getting what you think you paid for.
