As I sit here on my 38 b-day, I am amazed at the complaints, and like others I thought I was the only one.

I 1st got my home in 1997. I was covinced that this home was built better than any other Mobile home. HA HA.. I put 10,000 down and yes I will admit due to my credit. A week later I was told I had to put another 7,000 down so being that they had 10,000 of my money I did.

So the big thing with the down payment was that much and I still had to pay 2 months before I got to move in. This I guess was due to the fact that they hired drunks to move and do the setup. I put down payment in Aug of 97 got to move in Nov 97. Paid for Sept and Oct while I still paid rent where I was at.

I will admit that I have been late all tho I have never missed one I run a month behind.Due to unseen factors that have happened in LIFE. I now am trying to get my disabilty due to another factor that I would have rather not have happened.

But all the while I have paid on this home because it is all I have.I have just 1 year and about 6 months till I am done with them. If I can hold on too it.

But in the mean time things have just fallen apart. I have seen so many complaints about heating/air units, I truely understand mine quit after a year. I use window units now. And heaters that I plug in. But here is a list of other stuff.

hot water heater, doors, molding around doors etc, frig, leaky roof, gaps in doors in/out ones, burned or just not working outlets. just some of the things for a place that will cost well over 40,000 by the time I am done.

They have repeatly threaten forecloser, and I have gotten to the point of not worrying about it.I have been told many times that they did'nt have to take me to court and could just kick me out. They even lost a payment that was taken to a local Clayton Homes lot as I had done for a long time. Well I had to replace that even tho I had the reciept from the lot. Luckily it was a U S Post Office Money order and I got the 290 back.

I would like to accknowledge that the account rep I have now is very nice, has made no threats or treated my husband bad.See I cant hear on the phone due to the last unseen factor, and my husband now is not on the account. But Chad has been nice and helpful but this is a recent thing with not being talked to like I am trash and like I am not worried about being homeless. Wonder if it is complaints feom sites like this that might make a diff.

Well I guess I am one of the lucky ones, I was able to pay Vanderbilt off last July. But the home which I have to live in is not worth the money that they got for it.But its mine. Good Luck to all you out there that still have to deal with them.
