Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
My husband saw a truck he wanted. We went into the dealership and was told that it would be $3000 down. We borrowed the money and paid and drove the truck home. A few months go by and we are still paying the dealer we are told that we would be receiving a packet from the finance company that is handling it and then would start making payments to them, but if we couldn't get it mailed on time to avoid a late fee just drop the money off at their office.

We received the packet the day before it was due so we just dropped the money at the lot. We did this a couple of times and other times we would pay the finance company. I was at work-I work for a school- and out of no where someone jumped in my truck and stole it. I called the police-they told me it was repossesed. I called the finance company-they said I hadn't been making payments.

I explained that I had and that I had the receipts to show this. They said talk to the car lot. I went to the car lot and they said just take your stuff their is nothing more to discuss. I went to get my stuff out of the truck and they had gone through my purse and took the keys-the fact that they took the keys didnt bother me as much as the fact that they went through my purse!

They took the camper we put on it off and broke the glass before they returned it to me. I was standing there when they broke it. My husband said when he gets back in town he will deal with it. He called the finance company when he got back and they told him the car lot said they never received any payments and neither had they and that they had notified us that if we didn't pay they were going to reposses.

This is a lie. The guy at the car lot scared me half to death when I went to get my stuff he was saying nasty things and had his gun out. My husband then went over the bill they sent us saying we owed. and they put this amount on our credit report too. The amount they claim we still owe for the truck is more than what the truck was priced for to begin with. My husband called and asked them what was going on and took the contract we had on the truck to them and showed them. they pointed out that we only paid 2500 down and they couldnt explain any more of why the price they claimed was more than our contract.

When he asked why they only put 2500 instead of the 3000 down-we have the receipt. they said because they paid the guy at the finance company under the table to accept the loan. The day after they stole our truck I seen someone else driving it. I found out that someone else(a family member) wanted the truck so they did this to get it for them.

Someone told me they are good at this scam and thats why this guy at the finance company takes money under the table and takes the loan and then they repo it and make more money. The reason half the people don't report it is because it is in arizona where half the people he is doing it to is illegal or on the wrong side of the law. He figured that because of our credit report we were scum that he could scam. I told them to take this off my credit report and disputed it. They took it off of experian but left it on the others.

I just wanted to warn people in arizona. Watch out. The actual car lot is Mendez Brothers. But they had several and everytime they get closed down they just change names and reopen.

Tricia, NEVER accept "spot" delivery!! NEVER do this!! And...Here's what you do to make it right!

Tricia, Never take possession of any vehicle until the deal is done. "Done" means that you have the fully executed sales contract and finance contract IN YOUR HAND, which proves your financing is done, and also shows who you need to make your payment to and on what date it is due. You should have found out right away who the bank is that financed it and made a payment to them. NEVER do anything verbally, always do everything in writing, and always pay by check, never by cash. In Arizona, I had a complaint against a dealership and I followed through and put them out of business! Go to the Motor Vehicle Division, and see the DEALER SERVICES rep. You can file a complaint against the dealership there, which opens an investigation immediately, and puts a black mark against the Dealer's license. While you are there, request the name of the bonding company that bonds the dealers license, and file a claim with them for your losses. Do all of this right away, BEFORE speaking to the jerk from the company who responded here. He is just doing damage control for the company, and is wasting your time and stalling your actions against them. Do what I said TODAY!! Good luck!

If I were you I would send copies of this RIP OFF REPORT, you contract, reciepts, whatever you have to the Arizona State Attorney's office. PRONTO. You can also file with Comsumer Affairs and try to get in touch thru one of the State Agencies with a very well kept secret agency call THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF COLLECTIONS AND INVESTIGATIONS in your state. This Department is usually located in or around the State Controlers Office or the Govenors Office. Kept very low key. With some persistance you can you can find it. Good Luck
