I received a letter in the post dated 4th May 2006 (received 16th May 2006) from Ventura, Cruz & associates, informing me that an investment company (Prestige Investment Company S.L) had bought lottery tickets in several peoples names worldwide in order to enhance their chances of winning (surely this is fraud!)

The sum of 895,350 Euros was quoted against winning numbers 6 9 23 27 42 49

The investment company was then said to have invested the winnings in profitable shares for six months.

The letter continued that after the initial six month period, the money was to be released to me, but there had been a complication with the address of the winners (i thought i was the only winner!!) and claim for the winnings had been attempted by some unscrupulous individuals.

The letter gives a contact Mr Martin Luis Feres who is to be contacted on the number at the top of the letter before 26th May 2006 in order to state the claim. The letter also mentions the possibility of re-investment and asks for your consent!.

The second page of the letter is supposed to be from La Primitiva, asking for all sorts of personal details (surprisingly not for bank details!) but is to be faxed back to Ventura, Cruz & associates. Reading the small print at the bottom of the page clearly shows that the letter is actually from the "law firm" Ventura, Cruz & associates and not from La Primitiva, as it says that La Primitiva appointed "us" to legally represent both parties. The really badly copied logo at the top of the page should also raise suspision. There is so many flaws in this scam that it is almost transparent.

If the money had been paid to "me" and the investment company had picked up the money, why would the lottery company still be involved?!? Surely the investment company should be sending me a letter? I have not, and will not respond to this letter, and in writing this complaint, hope that others will see through this evident scam in the future.
