Venture Custom Pools Demanded final payment then refused to complete work Plano, Texas
Do NOT hire this company! Subcontractors tore up an enormous amount of my yard and Venture refuses to repair because my contract only included 2 pallets of sod. Venture either failed to accurately estimate the amount of damage its subcontractors would cause, or failed to adequately supervise its contractors to ensure they didn't destroy more yard than necessary. So Venture's negligence is now my additional expense. First bid to replace the sod was $2,000.
I was quoted 6 weeks construction time, but it took 12 weeks, during which time sprinklers were not operational, causing landscape in front yard to die (specifically an ornamental tree and 2 large shrubs). My design/estimate included a volleyball net as the entire pool was designed for sports use. Even though the price I paid ($75K) included a volleyball net, Venture refuses to furnish the net because it wasn't written on the final contract. Also, Venture's sub-par contractors tripped the circuit while using an exterior outlet and failed to either inform us or flip the breaker themselves (they had continuous access), which cut off power to our chest freezer, causing $300-500 worth of food to defrost and spoil.
Plumbing was placed incorrectly, but nobody ever checked to make sure it was correct before pouring concrete for deck, so now I have an unsightly 5-foot patch in the deck where concrete was cut so plumbing could be moved. There was a glaring lack of supervision or control over subcontractors who botched the plubming, electrical, and continually left trash and debris everywhere. Glass bottles, Styrofoam containers, cigarette butts, fast food wrappers, water bottles, boxes/packaging from equipment that was installed, etc. were continually LITTERED IN MY BACKYARD and front yard!! I never saw the project manager unless he wanted to pick up a check.
I don't know how this company has managed to stay in business when they treat customers like garbage and destroy their properties without any intention of repairing the damage they inflict. Extremely frustrating process for us, but Venture doesn't care. They got paid in full and moved on.
