July 10th I called into Verizon to pay my bill which I was under the impression that I was a few days late.  After speaking with a representative I was told my account had already been paid allowing my balance to come to $0.  As soon as the Rep had said my balanced was paid, I came unglued.  How could it be paid i asked?  She responded with i dont no actually I cant see how your payment was taken, but she thinks "I" probably elected to have autopay set up which takes your personal banking information.  I told her there is no way i set up autopay i have personally called in for the last five months and paid over the phone.

For the last 5 months i have paid my bill by calling in directly.  almost 10 months ago I did elect to have auto pay turned on because I was living overseas, and figured it would be easier to pay due to being abroad.  Once I returned state side in Early December I asked to cancel my auto pay, and to turn it off completely.  This phone call should be on recod as well.

The woman said she would look into it, but it might take some time becasue she would have to contact someone directly to listen to the recorded calls which would allow me to set up auto pay.  3 week went by and nothing havnt heard a word from Verizon reguarding my account.  So i called back and spoke with someone else.  This time it was a man.  He seemed nice and was super fast to fix my problem after explaining it to him.  He asked what happened and what in fact i wanted in return to fix the problem.  I told him the whole story , and told him all i want is my $198.00 back that was wrongfully taken out of my account.  He said ok I can credit that back and also give you the month of august free.  I resonded with great that was easy.  I ended the conversation by saying just allow a couple of days until this posts to your account.

Its been almost 2 weeks now.  Nothing has posted to my account.  I called again Friday july 18th.  Where a representative told me "sir it looks like your actually not going to get refunded the money because it looks as tho your bank added you to auto pay."  "My bank enrolled me without my permission i said".  Thats the dumbest thing i have ever heard.  So I hung up and dialed straight to financial services.  I was irate.  I wanted to no why none of the financial service reps have called me back reguarding my claim.The woman i spoke couldnt help me what so ever. the best she could do was credit me $60 dollars, and that she could look into it further.  

Today July 22nd still no call back.  I called Verizon this afternoon and demanded to speak with a supervisor.  It took some time but i finally got through to one.  The supervisor had me explain, and when i finished she said "sir I understand, I truly do but it looks like you started auto pay in may after I personally paid Mays balance. Not only did i set up auto pay after I paid my mays balance, but I "SUPRESSED' it. Meaning i told it not to kick in until July apparently.  I resonded by asking who the F&*K would do that, thats the most rediculous thing I have ever heard.  

I continued by asking what about the recorded phone calls from there records, surely they would show i infact did not enroll with this.  She said she was in fact not able to look into that at this time.  

I believe this case was fraud.  And it was only for the amount of 198 dollars but it still is wrong.  I dont no what else to do, and after reading through some similar cases I think I will go into my bank and fill out a Federal Registration E form.

I think back in December when i elected to turn off auto pay, the rep i spoke with actually supressed my account, which is why it turned bak on in July.  Verizon hasnt gave me a truthful explenation, just that i did infact do this.  

 

I hope i can find a solution.
