Unfortunatly for me I did call the 800 number and register the phone. It was a brand new phone and Verizon did not mention that there would be any problems insuring it, they just assume that the customers know this. The phone was insured the whole time I had it, I had only asked for my money back that I paid on the insurance when they told me that they couldn't do anything for me. As for the manufacturer warranty I am trying to get somewhere with that, it's hard to get all the information needed when I didn't purchase the phone myself.

Apparently, I didn't read your complaint completely. Oh, you won the phone from work. After receiving the phone you won, did you take the phone into a Verizon Wireless Retail store or did you call their customer service line? I think you might have had better results in replacing the phone had you gone into a Verizon store. Verizon may reject your insurance claim because it was purchased from an outside dealer, and it may have been a used phone. I don't know how you can get out of this one, but now since the insurance was removed, you're definitely out of luck. The only thing you could do is possibly go to a Verizon store and see what you can do to remedy the situation. Or, you can call the manufacturer support line to see what can be done...

I have been with Verizon for nine years and i Have always had the insurance plan. I have had to replace several phones for manufacturer problems and for accidents that damaged the phone and never had much of a problem getting a new phone. Verzion told me this phone was under the insurance plan amd that they would cover the phone whether it was a malfuntion or if it were dropped or broken it would be covered under the 4.99 a month insurance plan. Beside the fact that Verizon has made up three different stories to me about why the will not cover this phone I am now out a 400.00 dollar phone and I had to deal with the horrible and rude customer service they have.

Unfortunately, the warranties on the phones are NOT Verzion's. Verizon does NOT manufacture the phones, they ONLY give service to them. You MUST contact the MANUFACTURER of your phone to get warranty information and service. If you need your phone to be replaced, it's best to use the phone insurance option. For manufacturer's warranty, it's harder to get a phone replaced, and they usually try to 'pass the buck' when it comes to that. If I'm not mistaken, the manufacturer's warranty is only 90 days on cell phones. If you remove insurance from your phone, you are pretty much SOL when it comes to replacing it as manufacturer's warranty will NOT replace a phone that has been damaged. So again, your beef is NOT with Verizon....
