Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Verizon wireless has 3 times (that I caught) in 3 years changed or modified my account without my permission.

The most recent was all of a sudden I was receiving text messages which I never received before. I found them bothersome because they were "spam" messages.

My husband pays my phone bill and only checks with me regarding payment if they bill seems higher than normal. I reviewed my bill and noticed that I had added services (text messaging and detailed billing) that I did not order and was being charged for.

The amount came to $4.25 per month. Since the amount is not substantial, it went unnoticed.

I called verizon to tell them to remove the text messaging service and to credit me for the charges. I was informed by the so called customer service agent that she would not credit my account because I ordered the service and have had it on my bill since June of 2003.

I informed her that under NO circumstances did I order this service, and I would have called sooner but did not "catch" their fradulent billing. I gave them an "out" and said "perhaps someone made a mistake and changed service to my account on accident". I was informed that this was not possible because there are notes in the computer that I changed service.

This is when I became irate! I know that I did not order service, they have nothing in writing, nor do they have a recored phone call. I told her that if she does not fix this problem immediately, I will file fraud charges and obviously change services.

Her arrogance was mind boggling, we are talking about a $25 credit. They refused! I am in the process of switching phone companies. I am certian that they do this delibrately hoping no one will catch this, at least not for a while. I would like to file fraud charges, and would also like to look into a law suit, individual or class action. I am positive this way done on purpose and that there are many other victims.

The best thing anyone can do for himself or herself, which has been bitten by Verizon Wireless vipers. Is to file a complaint with your State Attorney General. The more complaints that are filed with the Attorney Generals the quicker something will be done. Also, insist that the Attorney Generals force the FCC to reopen their 1998 Verizon Vapor Ware Audit of more that $153 billion dollars of unauditable commercial property! See: (www.newnetwork.com, www.forbes.com FCC allows Verizon and other cellular phone companies to raise their rates base on the property cost. Good Luck
