I bought a cell phone form Verizon in June 2002 because of the $50 rebate. I sent in the forms the next day and waited.

After 4 weeks, I called to see where my $50 was. They said the never recieved it. I sent it again. I called again. They said they never received it. Then I faxed copies of everything. I called again. Tehy said the never received it.

Then I faxed the paperwork every single day for a week. I also faxed it directly to the CEo of the woreless division and the CEO of the entire company. After a few days, the wireless division called me to say that they were on it.

The next day, the office of CEO of the entire company called to say they were working on it. I kept faxing. In February, seven months after my first request for a rebate, I finally got the $50. What would have happened if I wasn't so persistent?

Don't trust Verizon rebates.

Support legislation that makes mail in rebates illegal and put a stop to a widespread practice that is consumer fraud
