Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This individual is advertising on google adwords for "Open your own video game store". He claims to own a chain of video game stores in california, and his schtick is he'll help YOU open your own store by doing consulting work for you and providing you with distributor lists, store software information, and phone support.

After investigating this fellow, I found out that: 1. "Tom Martin" isn't even a registered owner of this business.

2. upon CALLING one of his stores I discovered his "brother in law" who claimed "tom" didn't actually own the store anymore and that he sold it to HIM. The first part of our conversation, however, the man on the phone stated that "Tom is no longer here" until I stated I was calling in regards to his consulting services. THEN the story changed to "I'm taking over the stores from tom". BUT when speaking to "Tom" the supposed owner, he claims he still owns the stores. HMMM so which is it?

3. Upon calling his "references" one phone number was DISCONECTED and the other guy didn't know what the HELL his lines were! lol. He totally forgot what the con was and it took him a minute to remember who his consultant/buddy "TOM" was. lol.

He wants $3,000 for his services, but the fact he doesn't OWN the businesses he's claiming, the fact his references don't check out, and the fact his real name doesn't check out is proof enough that this dude is shady. Go to www.videogex.com/franchise to read this guy's speel then give him a call. Then call his stores, and do a "background" check on who the owner of the business is, and you'll find that indeed, no one named "tom martin" owns this chain of video stores.

Luckily I did not go thru with this as I obviously avoided one shady individual. REmember to always check references and do background checks. People can assume identities on the internet, and i'm sure there are many victims of this scam out there.

Not True

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Hello- I am the owner of Video Game Exchange. My name is Tom Martin and I am the owner/founder of VGE. The person complaint is completely false. I have never dealt with him. We have helped over a dozen individuals in opening their own game store. Our references are easily verified. We have been in business for over 12 years. All anyone has to do is call our two locations in Stockton, CA. or Lodi, CA and verify who is the founder/owner. Once again, the report is false. Anyone who needs to verify this, just needs to call our stores and speak with our staff. Tom Martin (Owner) Video Game Exchange www.videogex.com 209-981-0803
