On April 2,2017 I clicked on a pop-up while on my Facebook page. It offered samples of a new skin product. I followed the prompts to enter my Visa Charge account information, agreeing to pay a small amount of $.99 for Vlamorous and $5.95 for AquaVo, plus 3.95 shipping and handling.
When I received the items, they appeared to be full size, and not a small "trial" amount as I expected. The Vlamorous was 1.0 Fl.Oz. and the AquaVo was 0.5 Fl.Oz.
There was no invoice included in this first shipment. There were no offers to purchase any auto-ship. At the time, I thought it strange that they were sending such a large amount, but thought perhaps they were a young company trying to get people hooked on a great product.
I have been using the products, and they are good.
On or about Friday, May 26, 2017 I received the 2nd shipment. It contained another 1.0 Fl.Oz. jar of Vlamorous. Oddly, no AquaVo was included this time. No invoice was included - only a packing slip from Beauty Impressions, PO Box 6558, Englewood, CO 80155. The item#500-VLAMR-101. Description: Vlamorous.
I looked at my Visa Charge Account, and saw that they charged me on the following dates:
4/9/17 Riveting Eye Redemptio BrandonBudd83VA -----$5.95
4/10/17 Riveting Eye Redemtio BrandonBudd83VA -----$.99
4/10/17 NSR*NouvaSkinRenew 855-7157772 DE ----- $3.95
4/24/2017 NSR*NouvaSkinRenew 855-7157772 DE ----$97.83
4/25/2017 Riveting Eye Redemtio BrandonBudd83VA ----$105.79
I would agree to pay the first amounts on 4/9 and 4/10, but NOT the 4/24 and 4/25 amounts. Because I did not order these. And, in fact, was sent only 1 additional item in the 2nd shipment. This item is being returned to sender.
So, I sent an email to the address given on the packing slip: [email protected]. But my email message was returned.
Because it was a holiday weekend, I waited until Tuesday, May 30th to contact the sender by phone. I called the number shown on the packing slip: 1-844-844-0167 and spoke to a gentleman with a strong foreign accent.
I told him that I had received this item and asked what was going on. I didn't order anything other than the trial samples. He said that I had agreed to auto-delivery, as indicated in the small print of the original offer and if I had read it, I would have seen this. I said that I didn't want it, I wasn't advised of any item price or auto-ship conditons, and wanted my money back. He asked, "Do you use the products? Do you like them? " I said, "yes". He said that he couldn't refund because I failed to contest within 2 weeks after the 1st shipment. I asked to talk with his supervisor. After a few moments, he came back on, and offered to discount the item to 70%. I said, "No. I want my money back. I did not agree to this. Your free sample offer was misleading. You failed to inform me. You are running a dishonest business and I will report you to the BBB." Then, he offered me a still lower discounted price (I think 50%). At that point, I said "No" again. He persisted. So I hung up!
I reported this issued to my Redwood Credit Union Visa and they closed the credit card down, and issued me a new one.
I filed a dispute with them and hopefully they will pursue these charges.
