VMC Satellite, Inc ripoff tricked and lied to us-told us we had 3 days to make a decision, told them to pick up unit before our 3 days were up, then took money out of our account Fairfax Virginia
was told we had 3 days to decide whether or not we wanted the system, we did not and called them before the 3rd day. We had already paid them a fee of $49.00 plus tax, installation fee(?). They were to send us boxes to return the merchandise, one box was so badly torn that it could not be used, called them and requested another box, after several calls, we got the merchandise boxed to return, but called the company to make sure that we were returning everything, told them what was being sent back and she told us that it was correct. UPS picked up boxes. Several months later, $50.00 was taken out of our checking account, we had no prior notification that it was being taken. Called and spoke to a customer rep, he said we did not return everything, we told him we had and that we had called before we sent everything back, his comment was that we still owed them an additional $3.00. Today, 4/18/02, received a notice from VMC that if we did not pay them $290.00, within 7 days, that they were going to turn our "bad debt" over to a collection agency that they have retained and it's one of the best collection companies in the country and they have successfully represented them for sometime (wonder why?) If we don't pay now, additional collection costs and interest will be added.
