Per the direction of the store manager, Brendan Barrett, I had a mechanic attempt to repair my aforementioned vehicle. I say attempt, as after the parts as well as labor listed upon their invoice was complete; my vehicle still is burning anti-freeze. Thus, it is incapacitated or kaput. Furthermore, their observations state, that due to the mix of windshield de-icer fluid in my antifreeze (by the technician at Pewaukee TLE) the engine needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

The cost to rebuild the engine would be approximately $5,000 - $7,000 over and above the invoice from them that I received as well as paid them of $2,119.61. The blue book value of my vehicle is $4,425. It is evident that to spend approximately $7,000 on a vehicle worth a $4,425 is not a prudent investment.

The Pontiac is my only vehicle, only mode of transportation to get to work in plus personal travels. Furthermore, it was paid off. What's more, in the past, I have had other minor incidents with the TLE department. One incident the oil filter on my vehicle was not tightened on properly; hence, it leaked oil. Upon inspection, it was so loose one turn dropped it into my hand. The other occasion the technician bent a rim on my vehicle whilst, they mounted my new tires. I purchased a new rim & had them remount the tire on it.

In summation, this gross error by the Pewaukee TLE department necessitates that I purchase a vehicle. I need to purchase as well as borrow money for a vehicle, which means monthly payments. This furthers the strain on my financial situation. The difference betwixt the blue book of $4,425 and the $2,120 already spent is $2,305. For this reason, a check in the amount of $4,425 rendered to me is suitable for my vehicle.

Furthermore, I requested funds for mileage incurred from the January 22, 2009 to present also, a rental vehicle for my use until such a time that I may acquire a suitable vehicle. It was not delivered.

It took the CMI folks in Arkansas 14 days to deny my claim because the tapes showed the tech was in the correct spot. NOTE: the cameras are hung high above the bays, are for loss prevention (anti-theft) not quality control, as well as all you see is the tech duck under the hood & do not know what they are doing. I argued this point with the rep from CMI as I am an associate of the store. Unfortunately, a few weeks after my incident, the techs in TLE placed windshield washer liquid into the brake fluid reservoir. He too is an employee of this store.

I am tapping into the means I have before me that are free before I tap into anymore of my funds. Wal-Mart is an unethical company. Moreover, what was done to my vehicle was negligence. Their denying my claim made the issue erroneous as well as unethical.

If anything was added to your overflow tank, it is because it was low. Considering windshield washer fluid is nothing more than water, a little alcohol, and a little bit of soap, what do you think is in it that caused your engine to fail? Your engine failed(if it did) due to whatever issue caused the overflow tank to be low to begin with. The amount of washer fluid that would be extracted during the normal cooldown of the engine would be minimal. I've used washer fluid as a coolant flush for yours. It works quite well, and requires very little afterward shy of simply draining and refilling with a 50-50 mix of coolant. You have no claim.

What happened to you really stinks. I had a friend with a problem at that same Walmart. I have been going to a repair shop in Waukesha called Engine and Transmission Exchange. They are located at 1604 S. West Ave. Waukesha, ph#262-548-0000. I am sure they could do your repairs for less than any repair shop. They also have a shop in Milwaukee. Maybe they could recheck the work the other shop did. Good Luck.
