Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I stopped going to Walmart because the lines were always ridiculous. However, after about three months, I decided...well maybe I'll go to a different one, and my experience will be better. Uhhh..yeah..NOTHING changed. Everything was a big d**n mess. They were out of all the things I was really looking for. After deciding, oh well, since I'm here I'll go ahead and get some groceries. That was the worst d**n mistake ever. I thought I'd be SAVING time by picking up the items there. WROOONNNGG!!! I stood in line sooooooo long and I was watching these retarded managers walk back and forth with their walkie talkies, and not handling the problem. I work for an extremely large retail chain that would never do something like this-it is totally against our policy to have lines like that.

I was really about to leave my cart of frozen food right there in the long a*s line-but I had been standing there for twenty minutes already...so what's another 10 or 15 right? Well, this is the kind of f***ed up thinking that's going on in my head because I was about to fall out from being tired, hungry, and sick of hearing babies screaming, and everyone bitching behind me about how Walmart sucks. Everyone behind me was saying things like "this is why I don't come to Walmart... I'm not coming back here...I'm going to Target from now on." I have to admit, Target use to have lines also...but they have really done a great job fixing that problem. I like going in there now, because almost everytime I go up to the registers, there's no one in front of me, or only one person---and they actually SPEAK TO YOU.

Walmart cashiers act like their job is to ignore you as best as they possibly can. After standing in line for thirty-five minutes...you will NEVER see my a*s in a Walmart. I'd rather pay more. Time is money-and when you waste my time...you're not getting my money. I even emailed Walmart about my experiences with their company, and they had a manager call me the next day! I wasn't home and he left two messages, and called my house 3 times total. Then the next day he called my house an additional two times, leaving a message again. I refused to call him back because I didn't feel like it was my job to help solve his store problems after I clearly put everything in plain English in my email. Nor, do I want to waste anymore of my time dealing with Walmart. Plus, that manager shouldn't been spending his time repeatedly calling my house-he should be jumping on a register and ringing up some customers.

SOLVE THE PROBLEM! Don't call me, because you've lost me as a customer. Even if they gave me a gift card, etc.-I wouldn't want it, because it means I'd have to stand in line, in order to get anything with it. So, to all the Walmart managers out there...get some cashiers, or stop walking back and forth like a jack a*s and ring up someone yourself. Your Customer Service SUCKS!

Went to Dollar General last Monday to pick up a gallon of milk on my way home from work. DG didn't have a single gallon in the whole store. Tues. I e-mailed DG's corp office about the situation. 3 days later, the district manager called me at my office, listened to my complaint, explained that they had received several other complaints also, and were going to increase the milk runs to 3 a week from 2 a week. He was very nice and I enjoyed talking with him and thanked him for calling me. That's the way it works. Stores that don't listen don't make it. Stores that don't respond to their customers don't last. The list of such companies is endless. In today's world, you're either part of the problem or part of the solution.

Call them back! If you can fix Walmarts problems you should call them back and ask for a job.

If you can fix their problems you could climb the ladder quickly and you would make millions of $$$ per year due to your expertise and leadership in the fields of retail, business management, marketing, human resources, finance, distribution, logistics, strategic planning, interstate commerce, legal, buying, inventory management and analysis, computer information systems, auditing, tax law, communications, loss prevention, and only hiring cashiers with bachelors and masters degrees. Hopefully, the cashiers with MBA's would make an extra 10 cents per hour so they won't be embarrassed to show their face at the class reunion...if they get the day off at the risk of somebody passing out in the checkout line.

Cory...I have a few words for you. You said, I went to Walmart, and then went back again. Try READING a little better. I said, I went to Walmart and then tried going to a DIFFERENT ONE (which FYI to all-it was one in a much better side of town-the other one is known as ghetto-mart)Then you tried to make sense of what I wrote..."fall out". Just to let you know, I didn't write on this website to impress my English teacher.

I wrote on here to express my thoughts and in my words. And, yes, I use "slang" as well as almost everyone else in America. Depending on what area you're from, it will vary. So,I hope you learned something new by reading that. Then you went on to tell me that I should've eaten, well, if I knew I was going to be in line for so long I would have,or I just would've not went there. Also, the part about "cutting coupons"...in case you didn't realize this, most of the time, coupons are a scam because you end up buying things that you didn't plan on buying just so you can save seventy five cents on it-or you end up purchasing more than you really need because you have to buy 3 in order to save a dollar.

In every Sunday paper there's maybe one coupon that relates to something I already had intentions of buying-and that's if I'm lucky. The time is money part IS true...VERY TRUE. And I'm only saving probably 1.50 total to stand in line for 30 minutes-if I had an extra 30 minutes to do nothing-I might as well be at work...I'll make way more than $1.50 in 30 minutes. The next thing you said, that I found interesting, was the tip you tried to offer me. "The trick to Walmart..." Why does there have to be a trick???? Why can't they just have enough people on staff on a regular basis to help the customers like every other store??

And then, you were impressed that a manager would call me, but I'm horrible because I don't have the courtesy to call him back. Well, try to focus on what I wrote...I said I didn't want to spend ANYMORE OF MY TIME to fix their problems and that everything I had to say was in my email. The manager had left a message on my machine asking me what the problem was...obviously, he can't read that well-just like you. I clearly wrote everything for them and didn't write a single "foul-mouthed" word to them...I used the words on here that I used, because that's how I wanted express myself. So, unless, you have something of some importance to tell me, don't respond to my write up of Walmart, because I don't want to waste my time with people who probably (secretly) work for Walmart and are trying to stick up for their crappy company. HAVE A GREAT DAY CORY!!!!

You Knew What To Expect

You went to Walmart and had a bad experience and went back to Walmart and had another bad experience, what did you expect. I guess "fall out" means pass out, should have eaten before you went shopping. You state time is money which is true. You have to weigh up the extra time spent waiting in line versus the few dollars saved at Walmart. I shop at Walmart and cut coupons and save quite a bit. The trick to Walmart is to go in the morning before work, there are seldom more than a hand full of people, usually more employees than customers. I'm impressed with a manager that takes the time to call such a rude, foulmouthed person back. And, you didn't have the courtesey to call him back. You get what you pay for.

Self Check out not usable by vision impaired!

There is no way I can escape the long lines, as the self check outs require you to be able to READ the message and find their buttons to push. They have gotten so that it is harder and harder to shop there without having someone go with you who is sighted. Like in all small areas, Walmart is about the only place left to shop.

Wal-mart "Everything's a BIG DAM MESS!"

#7Consumer Suggestion

Another way to avoid the "Wal-mart" experience is to simply not shop there. Im sure you can find other "box-type" stores with less or no rip off reports on them. Give them a try.

-Used to be if you shopped W-mart at nite, you only had access to about 75% of the store, and then you had to dodge all the drunk illegal aliens flying around on sweepers, forklifts, floorwaxers etc etc. -Dont bother speaking to them, they wont understand you.

Suggestion for bypassing long lines

#8Consumer Suggestion

Sun, April 18, 2004

I solved the long-line problem by going to WalMart late at night, when fewer customers attack the store.

Plus, the WalMart in my neighborhood has employed self-check-out lanes, which means I never have to deal with any checker-weenies. Although, the checker-weenies here in Austin are all very nice.

Works for me!

I understand the frustration of the long lines at Wal-Mart. As an employee, I get no special privledges when it comes to standing in line, so I know what that feels like. But, I can tell you why the cashiers are so cold-hearted: they catch as much flack from management telling them to rush the customers as they do from the customers complaining about the slow, long lines. When customers are constantly cursing at you for things that are not your fault, your attitude would change, too. I work as an overnight cashier, so I don't go through all of the hell that the daytime cashiers receive.

We have a Target in our area, and, yes, it is nice to be able to walk up to a cashier and get rung up immediately. Well, that is easywhen you have no customers. Of course, Wal-Mart will be busy when everyone chooses to shop there, when there are other department stores to choose from. So, don't blame Wal-Mart; blame all of the other customers that think like you and go to the same place to shop as you.

As far as management calling your houseI would have taken advantage of that. I didn't even know they did that. That is an outreach as far as customer service. One other thing you should remember as far as customer service is concerned. Should you have any complaints, you can always call 1-800-WALMART. From what I understand, a lot of results have come from calls to that numberespecially calls from frustrated customers.

One more thingshould long lines happen like that again, Wal-Mart has instituted a program called LineRusherIt helps a lot. An associate will take a device and scan all of the merchandise in your shopping cart, then scan a blue card, which will retain information on all your items. When you reach a cashier, you hand them the card, they scan it, and all of your items are input into the register...saves a lot of time. The next time you experience long lines, if the store isn't using LineRusher, suggest it. If they don't use it, call 1-800-WALMART. They will make sure they use it.

I hope this will be helpful.

I've been to target once, and that will be my last time. Asked in the front of the store where the A/C's were that were on sale, was told in the back of the store, got to back, asked someone else, go to the left rear of the store, go there ask someone else...says up front, I say screw it and went across the street to Sears and bought exactly what I needed and was gone in minutes.
I shop at Wal Mart in Tappahannock with very
rarely more than one person in line. Living in the
country has advantages.
