Not the politest responses to this so far, but I have to agree with what they say, if not the way they said it. There are three things in a vehicle that are a common misconception... Low Coolant, Low Oil and Low Transmission Fluid. If ANY of those are low, it means you have a problem. Cars (Properly running cars that is) do not "use" oil, coolant or transmission fluid. If you are low on any of these, there is a problem. It's a closed system, it's going somewhere. If your transmission fluid was empty, then the damage was done already. As for the oil filter... I have no idea what a 50 or 60 is.. Torque shouldn't be that high on a filter, so no idea what the other mechanic was talking about.

Maybe next time you should go to a mechanic and have your oil changed, or go to any book store and buy a book "OIL CHANGES FOR DUMMIES", or if you can, ask your buddy to do the work, you could give him a couple of bucks for the services rendered. Butnever go to a place you know you will complain about later.

Walmart hires entry level punks for oil and tire service. If you want to avoid this, dont go to Walmart. Save a couple of bucks and get some self gratification without the masterbation. Change your own oil. You let the oil get low in the first place. Its hard to say what the problem is. Perhaps your car is leaking oil, or the engine is burning it. Who the hell knows. YOu know d**k about cars, and that makes you and your idiot mechanic unqualified to blame walmart.
