Waybright Investments Ripoff, SLUMLORDS of Richmond, rude, dishonest, money hungry Richmond Virginia
I rented from Waybright Invesents my Junior year of College from July 2004 to July 2005 at 1106 West Franklin Street Apt 311, Here is what I went through for a year... they refused to update the 1920's original phone lines in the building that no longer work, even though they own the building so that was in violation of the FCC's code. there were roaches so bad during the summer that no matter how hard i cleaned they were in my bed and refigerator, they told me thats how old buildings are.
The homeless drunk bums of Richmond would come and sleep in our apartment buildings hallways right outside are door in the winter bcause waybright refused to fix the broken locks on the lobby doors. They are always broken windows that thay take there sweet time in fixing or they dont fix at all.
They ADVERTISE FREE HEAT, then send you a memo on why they are now chargeing heat. THEY SAY THEY WILL NEVER Raise your rent then they do raise it because "they say they can".
Their workers that do repairs for them would come to our apparments without notice and just walk in at anytime and use my bathroom and smoke cigrettes in my NONSMOKING apartment. The walls would crumble at the touch and they wouldnt do anything about it.
I had flood damage that they never would fix, holes in my wall the would lead to the outside that were never repaired that were therewhen i moved in. MOLD grew in the bathroom from poor building maitnance and they didnt care and told me it was my problem since i lived there now.
They let ANYONE live there even though they advertise as only students, its more like a halfway house for criminals and then there are some students but they don't tell you that, they tell you its only students! They advertise as students housing but after such sorrowful inidents as the Taylor Behl case in Richmond, Who wants to subject their teengae girls to a hellhole such as this!! Its asking for more trouble!!
I hope this helps people, I wish I had known before I moved in, there are better places for the same amounts of money.
