Wayne County Friend Of The Court ripoff - PLAYING THE FLOAT WITH PAYERS' MONEY political corruption Detroit Michigan
Wayne County Friend of the Court garnished a Federal Income Tax refund from my X and has advised that it will be no less than 90 days before that payment to me is issued.
The court employee I spoke with about this informed me, "that's just how long the FOC takes to pay that out." 90 days seemed just a tad long to me so I pressed why, when a payer sends a personal check for the weekly amount or an additional payment to pay down arrears it takes only 1 or 2 weeks but conveniently when we're talking big dollars (like a $4000 tax refund) FOC seems to have a problem sending that money along on its way? Of course no answer was provided and that leads me to believe that if this is the method on all IRS refunds of large amounts the FOC is getting rich pretty quick on the interest of amounts that should be getting into the hands that NEED the money.
I thought FOC was set up to aid in getting families the support they need from responsible parties but as with so many other corrupt political & judicial systems in Wayne County they are really all about lining their own pockets! SHAME ON THEM!

I'm going to give you the real run down on FOC. Everyone, has something bad to say about FOC. If you've been in the FOC system for at least 5 years.. Think about.... The FOC pretty much has had some problems, expically with people trying to talk to someone at FOC. But think about, it was not this bad prior to 10-1-01. 10-1-01 is the date that the State of Michigan took "over" the running of FOC. It's their new system that has the problems. Before 10-1-01, people actually got checks every week almost like clock work... Now these same people, are lucky to get a check once a month. Everyone thought, OH!!!! The State is taking over, it's going to be great. That's what FOC gets... They've should have done their job better. But, look at it now... With the new State Computer System, the FOC can't really do anything... I see a lot of people on this site, stating that their federal refund got intercepted and it hasn't been disbursed or returned to them... FOC can't even disburse tax money anymore.. it's the State System that will determine where the money will go. FOC has to ask the higher powers that be,in Lansing, MI to disburse monies, and sometimes Lansing will not disbusre the money. They are straight by the book, there's no "Well, I see where the mistake happen, but we can do this and correct." Now it's "Well, I see where the mistake happen, but all you can do is file a motion." So everyone can complain and write their emails, but where were you all, when the talk was going on about the State taking over... Where were the people who actually really didn't have any problems with FOC. The people who could come down and actually sit and talk to someone and have their account corrected or explained. No one said anything... Now look what you have to deal with.. Now don't get me wrong, FOC had problems before 10-1-01, but at least you had a chance to talk to someone and them having the power to correct a mistake... Now you can talk to the same person, and all they can tell you is that it's the State System. OH.. This is just the beginning.. Just wait and see when the whole state of michigan get's on this state system..
