My wife and I got new windows for our house as a wedding gift from my mom. We were only in need of replacing 4 windows at the time. We contacted weather tite to do the job. They sent a salesman out and we all sat down and discussed what we wanted. We decided to go with 2 double hung windows and a new bay window to spruce up the front of the house a little. We gave them a deposit and got the wheels in motion. They came out and put in the windows and the new trim around them and they looked GREAT and the install guys were great guys and very courteous.
NOW about 9 months after the install my wife and i wanted to put a window A/C unit in and we had remembered that weather tite offered an insert for them. And we also noticed that during the winter our bay window would leak air around the trim on the bottom of the window.
SO they waited til like may to send a guy out and we asked at the same time about the A/C unit insert. when the guy got here (Frank) he treated us like we were total idiots and he talked down to us. Now don't get me wrong i'm no window installer by any means. But don't treat me like a dog about it. He basically told us that we didn't know what we were talking about and that we should have called 3 months ago when it was cold to show him the air leak. Which we called when it was cold but they waited til may to send this clown out.
So a few month later when i was on the road (over the road trucker) my wife calls me and tells me that the bay window is leaking water. I didn't believe her so she took pictures and emailed them to me. And sure enough the water was puddling on my oak window sill. We called weathertite the next day and they said they'd send frank out and i explained what happened the last time with him and unless they wanted to bail him out of jail for trespassing not to send him. So they sent a district rep. He looked at the pictures and the damage and i kid you know he tried to say my roof was leaking. We then went on to discuss the corrections that needed to be done.
When the rep left i gotta call and again they was saying that my roof was leaking but yet the top of my window was bone dry and there was no reason to suspect otherwise. So i then had to pull teeth to get them to send the original guys out here to do the job that originally did it. I would have it done any other way.
So when it was done we discussed the water stains all over my wood work and they told me that it was my fault for not staining and sealing the wood which i didn't want to do since i was going to remodel the room still. Well the wood was stained real bad and instead of sending someone out to refinish the wood they sent me a box of wood bleach and said the directions are on the side of the box. Its been 3 years and the wood is still stained and the bleach is still in the box cause its very dangerous to use.
I just had a rep at my house from window world to replace 3 more windows in my house and i showed him this window and told him to feel free to take pictures and show customers and even let them call me. These 3 windows cost my mom $4700.00 bux and was so ripped off.
I would not let weathertite back in my house for anything and will never buy anything off of them again. and i tell people about the problems i went through to get my problems resolved I would not recommend this company to anyone. The rep at window world looked at my windows and he don't even think there Low E windows which i paid for. Beware of these clowns. There guarantee isn't worth the charmin extra soft they wipe there rears with. I can't emphasize it enough STAY AWAY AND BEWARE.
