Weeda Hamdan - Poor quality junk artist
I attended an exhibit on a Saturday for this artist called Weeda Hamdan in Texas. She approached all of the people at the event very agressively and talked incessantly about how she is getting famous all over the world, how she is getting solicited from galleries all over the world, how she is well known in New York and how many famous people including the presidents of Lebanon and Liberia have commissioned her work. I was very turned off by her during the exhibit as well because she was drunk and tripping over everybody.  My husband needed to buy some artwork for his office and thought some of her paintings would be appropriate.  I myself was not very impressed as they looked like something any amateur could paint.
My husband purchased an abstract oil painting which cost $1,000. Even though the painting was fairly ugly, we felt good about the purchase since we were told that 20% of the purchase price would be donated to Ronald McDonald house in Dallas. We were told it would be delivered to the office by a special art transport company by the end of the week.  We paid the full price up front. We were given a printout and were told that a formal sales bill and receipt would be given to us upon delivery.
By Thursday nobody had contacted us. I called the gallery and we were told that they don't handle the delivery and gave us the e-mail of Weeda Hamdan. We e-mailed her several times, asking for a response and finally after 2 weeks we received a call from someone called "man" (yes, that is the name he gave us) claiming to be Weeda's husband. He said she was sick and the art deliveries were delayed. We asked "man" when we would get our painting or if they were not going to deliver we wanted our money back. He got angry, insulted us and said we would get the painting by the end of the following week. We never received a phone call from anybody else, and about a week later a delivery came to our office with the painting. It was wrapped in dirty brown paper that was torn - we told the delivery personnel that we were not going to accept this item they just set it down and walked out.
We removed the paper wrapping and the painting was not what we had purchased it was in terrible condition and the paint was cracked and bubbled and part of it looked like it had water damage. We called the gallery and they said they have nothing to do with this and that they no longer work with Weeda Hamdan and had no contact info for her. We again e-mailed Weeda and expressed how upset we were with this whole incident. She never contacted us back. So now we have a painting that is in horrible condition and we are out $1,000. The gallery will not respond either, we went back there and they said Weeda kept the money that she collected for several paintings and never paid them their commission. They also told us that her husband, whose actual name is Maan Hamdan or Mark Hamdan has been really nasty to them. We called the donations desk at Ronald McDonald house in Dallas, where Weeda Hamdan said she donates 20% of the sales of her so called "art" to and they said they have never heard of her. AVOID THIS ARTIST WEEDA HAMDAN AND HER HUSBAND MAN HAMDAN or MARK HAMDAN THEY ARE JUNK DEALERS AND FRAUDS. Their addresss is 4700 Goldeneyes Ln, McKinney, TX 75070-9039

To whomever wrote this article, it is obvious they do not know Weeda, Maan or anyone in the Hamdan family well at all. It also seems as though they have some personal vendetta for whatever reason, because the hurtful comments made are unnecessarily mean.

Weeda Hamdan is a phenomenal artist, whom I have worked closely with for over a decade. Her dedication to her work is like none other that I have seen, as I used to watch her stay up all night to complete her paintings, as she dedicated her time to her children during the day. To call her 'wacky' is, in my opinion, a compliment. She is different, but in the best way possible. She lives her life through a lens many of us should. It is with her intelligence, generosity and curiosity that she is able to succeed as an artist, mother, wife, sister and dear friend.

Her passion is unsurpassed and her goodwill to all is something you feel the moment you meet her. Most people who meet the Hamdans do not deny their goodness. I can only say to whomever wrote these nasty articles, shame on you.

I urge those who question Weeda or Maan Hamdan, to call or meet with them directly. Within moments, you will see what type of people they are and it will cease any doubt brought on by these hateful words.

I can't believe what I am reading!  I worked for Mark Hamdan also for more than 5 years at his horrible company HRsmart in Richardson, TX. What a loser he is, and since his company HRsmart is failing they are resorting to all kinds of scare tactics to keep it afloat. Right before I quit they told all of us in the Richardson office in Texas to post positive reviews and ratings on the website www.glassdoor.com because his reputation was so bad! So he paid some student interns to write fake reviews as if they were current and or former employees and now he thinks people will believe he and is company are worth something. The worst human resources software program you could ever get your hands on. And named one of the absolute worst employers in the state of TX. And his wife, this Wacky Weeda gets a big fat paycheck to stay home and fingerpaint and yes when we went to their house for a Christmas party she was in a robe playing the harp!  What losers!

Funny thing I was looking around on the internet for some information on the internet regarding our neighborhood here in McKinney, TX and I came accross this article. We live in the same community as the Hamdans right off Rouen Drive and we were always suspect of them. Many of the neighbors won't even pass in front of their house. There are shady things going on. Cars pulling up in the night with things being carried in and out of their house in large boxes. Buses have pulled up with probably about 30 people that get out of the bus and kneel down on the lawn in front of their house chanting with shaved heads. And this woman "Weeda" in the neighborhood is known as Wacky Weeda is usually stumbling around ranting and raving about some paintings which I have seen her put out on stands on the front lawn of her house trying to sell them to cars and people walking by. I know they run some type of computer company also but I've heard it's some shady operation that wires money from country to country. One of my neighbors told me that when the Hamdans moved in a few years back they had an open house and she went. She said the smell inside the house was so awful that after just a few minutes she almost vomited. Everything was full of dirt and the furniture was made of old boxes and mattresses on the floor. Steer clear of these Hamadan characters and that Wacky Weeda is less of an artist than my 5 year old grandson who uses fingerpaints.

I am an ex-employee and have known Mark and Weeda for a long time and none of what is said describes what these people stand for.

You can tell from the first report that there are NO FACTS, NO GALLERY NAME, NO DATES. The author used Mark and Weeda's name to file their report to hide their true identity, knowing well it is not true.

As for the other Ex-employee, why do you hide your name as well? Sad to see you are still disgruntled after so many years. I am sure the IRS would have checked this religious shrine story of yours.

Both authors (or maybe the same person entered both) are very creative. I give you that. Why don't you use your time more productively and write some fiction stories instead. You are good at that.

Who knows? You may become as successful as Weeda and Mark, and then some other envious ex-employee of yours may write a rip-off report about you!

Weeda Hamdan - Bogus and False Claim

#6Consumer Suggestion

Sat, June 22, 2013

I am a consumer of Weeda Hamdan's art.  Take one gaze into her eyes and smile in the picture provided and you have a look into the soul of this beautiful woman who is kind, passionate, vibrant, and loving....all reflected in her art....which if you have an original is a use of multi-media, bright colors, reflecting a capture of beautiful and positive energy.

The art provided in the claim above is not by her.  It is a false.  All you need to do is go to her website at her firstnamelastname.com  to see her background and pictures of her art to know this is a completely false and bogus claim against her.

She is the most humble person full of life.  It is such a blessing to our family to have one of her pieces hanging in our dining room.  Both her character and her integrity speak through her art, and anyone that knows her or has a piece of her original art knows this.

It is unfortunate that there are bad, dillusional, and mentally unstable people in this world that could even think of going to an extent of making up a story out of anger or jealousy or pain to hurt another innoscent soul.   I give the writer above a A+ for creative story writing as it paints a completely opposite picture of who this person really is.....and I certainly wouldn't want to know the person she describes.

Take my challenge, and visit her website.....you will never regret the journey into this person's gorgeous soul!

Weeda, the earth is a better place with you in it!!!  Blessings to you and thank you for your spirit and art!

I used to work for Mark Hamdan back in 2003-2005.  He was seven kinds of shady.  I ran the numbers, and his web developers had a 120% annual turnover rate.  I went from being the new guy to the most senior technical person in 11 months.

In that time, Mark actually gave me an extra week of paid vacation if I promised to hide from a process server so I couldn't be subpeonaed to testify against him.

Regarding his relationship with Weeda, I remember a lot of other employees talking bitterly about Mark's borderline embezzlement.  His wife was our "design consultant", which meant she had an enormous salary to keep her on "retainer" while she was a stay at home mom.  I actually asked Mark what projects she had worked on during my first year there, and he said "She designed our business cards".  I said "Oh, interesting.  Any other projects?", and he just glared at me and said "Who told you to ask that??".

Oh, and I also remember the time he bragged to me that he kept some religious statues in his garden shed so that it could be declared a shrine, and then he got a massive tax deduction for the religious use of his land.  Yeah Mark, real clever.

You should name the gallery.

#8Consumer Comment

Art purchasers would like to know what gallery doesn't VET the artists it allows to use their facility to sell their wares-commission sales.  If it were me, I'd be tempted to sue the gallery in small claims as well as the artist directly.

I think you should name the gallery that appears to refuse to help you.  I find it hard to believe that a legitimate art gallery would allow an artist to have a show (in order to offer commissioned sales) without having good contact information of the artist.

Good luck.
