Wells fargo Bank ripoff three debit purchases already cleared in the positive then listed with the over drafts in the next day Avondale Arizona
Regarding the three overdraft fees:
12/07/04 POS PURCHASE - CIRCLE K #5189 CIRCLE K #TOLLESON AZ 5118 $2.14
12/07/04 POS PURCHASE - 11425 W. BUCKEYFRYS FOOD AVONDALE AZ 5118 $8.18
12/07/04 POS PURCHASE - CIRCLE K #5189 CIRCLE K #TOLLESON AZ 5118 $11.07
12/07/04 CHECK # 1258 $81.67
12/7/04 In the morning and also in the evening, when I checked my account online the purchases for ($2.14), & ($8.18), ($11.07) were posted leaving my checking account at $44 in the positive.
the next day on 12/8/04 I noticed $81.67 posted before the first three purchases and now I have an 3 overdrafts maybe soon to be a forth? When there should have been only one?. Now I can understand the one overdraft posting today, my mistake. But for Wellsfargo to Jockey the postings arround to maximize the amount of overdrafts is intentional blood letting. especially when everything was cleared in the positive the previous day!

FIGHT BACK against Wells Fargo's OD fees as related to "pending" online status of transactions vs. ending daily balance

And I quote: "I am writing regarding your recent inquiry about pending transactions on your account. If a transaction is pending on your account, it will not be included in the ending balance. A transaction that shows as pending online would be deducted from your available balance, but it will not be deducted from the ending balance until it has posted to your account. I hope this information was helpful. We appreciate your business and thank you for banking with Wells Fargo." From reading your ripoff report, Avondale AZ, I would say yours should be a simple case of comparing the ending daily balance you saw online to the ALTERED information Wells Fargo has oh-so-conveniently decided to publish to your permanent account statement. Hopefully, you have a printout?? If not, I highly advise ALL WELLS FARGO CUSTOMERS TO PRINT DAILY ONLINE TRANSACTION HISTORIES FOR USE IN FIGHTING, SUCCESSFULLY!, AGAINST UNFAIR, UNWARRANTED OVERDRAFT FEES! I was able to do this after mathematically proving first to myself that Wells Fargo had included transactions listed as "pending" status both the afternoon before (and still as "pending" the day after) the daily ending balance they erroneously insisted was negative, and then it took 3 tries to get a clear, straight-talk answer regarding the exact definition of a "pending" transaction... which I have listed above for your use. However, GOOD LUCK converting these stubborn, mulish RAPISTS over to reality! But, if you stick with the above plan and then practice lots of tongue-biting, deep breath-taking, and "goose-faa-bah-ing", IT CAN BE DONE! However, BEWARE: after I went through the above rigamarole just to prove to MYSELF I had a positive balance (and wasn't crazy!), IT TOOK NO LESS THAN 5 TRIES TO GET WF TO COMPREHEND SIMPLE ARITHMETIC + THEIR OWN POLICY and reverse the fees. (Totalling $99.00) Now, they shake in their boots when I come a-complainin'!.... I HAVE SINCE BEEN ABLE TO FIGHT THREE ADDITIONAL OCCURENCES of the renowned WF bait-and-switch Overdraft fee tactics. Including one where I had canceled certain BillPay payments and created new ones in lower amounts and they conveniently-for-them decided to simply ignore only the cancellations and post ALL (old AND new)billpayments to my account plus a resulting HOST of OD fees. SURPRISINGLY, it took one simple phone call to resolve. THEY MUST HAVE ME FLAGGED IN THEIR SYSTEM or something. YIPPEE! AND HAPPY un-BANKING! I highly recommend switching to WAMU whom I have found to have superb customer service (online anyway...telephone & branch banking is another story there) and impeccable mathematical abilities. Not to mention it seems to take an additional 2-3 days for items to clear through WAMU, so all you semi-dishonest check floaters out there (much like myself, =~>) - HAVE A BALL!
