Wells Fargo threw in a $2.00 charge on my bank statement for a "Phone Banker Call." I have no idea what this is for, and it's just the latest in a string of ripoffs and difficulties I've experienced with Wells Fargo. When you e-mail a complaint, you just get a form letter full of self-praise.

Some grievances (these are technically not ripoffs, but they are very irritating business practices):

When you make a deposit on Saturday, the "next business day" is Tuesday, not Monday.

If you have a safety deposit box for which you receive annual renewal notices, beware! Now they are just withdrawing the renewal amount from your bank account---without your permission!

If your real estate agent wants to verify funds, there's a charge for that. A stop check will set you back $40.

Don't expect the bank to be open on Halloween. It's a holiday. So is the day AFTER Thanksgiving.

The $2.00 charge is when the customer calls customer service. Yes, they charge you for a 1-800 call. Wells has taken me for over $2,000.00 so far and I am currently working toward a lawsuit. They are criminals. Awful, just awful. Hard to believe a CUSTOMER gets charged for calling CUSTOMER SERVICE. They nickel and dime their customers to death. It is amazing they are even in business. I am sorry for your situation David. Good luck in all you do!! Tami
