Smoke Here! Ever since I've found this site, I visit it on a daily basis. Yes, I'm the one in PA that is after Werner's a*s. I just had to respond to Larry's report. I know, FOR A FACT, he's telling the truth. The same things he mentioned, happened to me. I would check my log from the Qualcom every day to do my daily paper log when I was training and found numerous differences. As he said, how could you be driving on line 4 when line 3 is the driving line? Anything that could be done by Werner WAS done by Werner. A buddy of mine, who is still at Werner, called me the other day from Ohio. His dispatch told him to pick up a load and have it delivered that same day. No problem you say? Well, there was a time limit given to him because it was a HOT LOAD. Shawn had a problem with this load. You see, they (Werner) wanted him to drive this HL 280 miles in 2 1/2 hours. My buddy isn't real good with math, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that that ISN'T going to happen. He argued with his dispatcher and the dispatch finally told him, after repeated math instruction, get it there ASAP. What a MORON. Shawn (my buddy) isn't long with Werner. To comment on Larry's issue with accidents...AT WERNER... YOU ARE AT FAULT. No matter how much you argue and know you weren't at fault, SAFETY will have a reason to fire you. Just like he said, they'll put a new driver in that seat and have to pay less money. It happened to my first trainer... same d**n thing. I was also told, while in orientation, you MUST be able to speak ENGLISH. I've sat in terminals and TRIED to converse with other Werner drivers and had NO CLUE what they were saying afterwards. How can you talk with the shipper or consignee if you can't speak English. To Werner, they are just another body to get into a seat and make money. Fraud? hummmmmmmm. The recruiters are definately something. I have to admit, I was taken in myself. I was looking toward a future career that I really wanted to do and swallowed hook, line, sinker and the d**n boat also. This is the company you NEED to go with because WERNER CARES! All sounded so gradiose. Care hell, you're just another dumb a*s student to them. Just ask for HOME TIME once you get your own truck, if you get one. Well, Larry, you are correct! Been there ---done that with this group. If I were you buddy, I'd contact the BBB of Nebraska and file a report and I'd also find out if your state has some sort of legal help you might get. If not, hire a lawyer, like I've done and fight their asses. Keep this web site going all you WEINER x-drivers. Smoke in PA, sayin, see ya'll on the flip side and if you are behind a wheel, BE SAFE!
