Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
My dog is very very sick, and we have been taking her to Wheaton Way Vet. Clinic for many years. I have always payed my pill cash in hand. But one time i needed help getting my bill paid or maybe a payment plan they said no. I said do you realize that my dog can die without the help she needs? The lady said yes and that is too bad. Until you can come up with the money there is nothing we can do. That is cruel! Most places i have been to see my animals have at least given me once chance to pay on a plan. But for anyone to say that your animal will die because of your inability to pay has a special place in this world.

Not saying that what you stated didn't happen, but I have had the exact opposite experience with Wheaton Way Veterinary Clinic.  Last Thursday, 3/21/13 we took our very sick Beagle to see Dr. Luttinen.  After his initial exam, blood work, x-rays, surgery and spending all day at the clinic we needed to transfer him to Poulsbo for after hours care due to his conidtion.

I asked about our bill and they said not to worry about it at that point.  They continued to treat my dog through the weekend and I finally paid the bill the following Tuesday even though they said that we could wait.  This was not a small bill either ($4800).

Not to mention Dr. Luttinen coming in on a Sunday when the clinic was closed to examine him to make sure that the treatment was working.

This is very unfortunate if this did happen, but I find it really hard to believe that they would have done this based off of my experience.

Absurd allegations that a veterinary hospital doesn't have compassion for it's patients

I would not typically respond to such an internet complaint especially one with such little foundation to support this individual's concern. What exactly is this person's complaint--that we don't have a payment plan? That is false! We offer payment plans with Care Credit (www.carecredit.com). We also accept VISA, mastercard, discover, cash, and check. Or, is the complaint about our lack of compassion toward pets in general? I hope that any reasonable person and pet owner would realize that veterinary hospitals exist to alleviate animals' discomfort and in some cases suffering. Our practices work tirelessly to treat the patients under their care, often times to the detriment of our own personal needs (i.e., long hours, working through lunches, etc), schedules, etc. Or perhaps, the complaint is that we don't routinely perform free medical and surgical services? Veterinary hospitals are businesses much like any other establishment with many expenses (i.e., staff, supplies, rent, utilities, etc.) and pressures beyond the knowledge of many consumers. We do our absolute best to maintain thoroughness and fairness with regard to our diagnostic and treatment plans, while maintaining prices that allow the average person the ability to care for their loved pet. I can assure any reader of this complaint, that maintaining this balance and the responsibilities of the practice / business are much more difficult than it seems. We will continue to do our best to maintain a progressive and practical veterinary hospital that provides fair prices, thorough and progressive medical and surgical care, comprehensive client education, and adheres to the highest ethical standards imaginable to serve our community. Thanks for your consideration, Dave Luttinen, DVM Practice owner
