After finding what looked like a very lovely flat for rent in London, I booked the flat based on the photos and the price of the flat.

Upon arrival, the flat was completely unacceptable. It was very dirty. There were no closets or dressers for clothing, nor any stands to place suitcases on. There were bare electrical wires in the bathroom and it was very dirty. The towels were damp and moldy smelling. The carpets and furniture covers were stained and there was an unpleasant oder in the flat.

There was a cupboard in one bedroom which was where the hot water heater and heat control was. When you open the door there were old rags and blankets wadded up laying about on the floor and the controls for the heat were very confusing and scary. It was creepy.

Even though we were warned there was no lock on the upstairs flat door, there wasn't even a door. Only a curtain and neither bedroom door had locks.

In conclusion, the photos on the internet make the place look new, clean, bright and welcoming. It was exactly the opposite and totally unsuitable for a 10 day stay.

We asked for a refund from the owner, Michael and he directed us to the booking agency, Wimdu. They agreed only to refund us 50% which is unacceptable as well.

We're very displeased with this entire adventure, which has cost us much in money and time. What a rip-off.
