Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Original sold windows and told they would reduce my electric use, did not happen. Told they came with a no questions ask warranty, did not happen. Told they would remove my old windows so they could be reused, did not happen. Sold an extra warranty that would replace windows for any reason,  did not happen. Windows where poorly installed and when I complained it fell on def ears. When someone finaly showed up they charged me to adjust 3 of the windows and got caulk on curtains ruining them. I have had problems with the windows closing, opening and fogging. I tried to talk to the corporate people who did nothing. This company, product and people are the poorest excuse of a company. I don't understand with the amount of complaints I'm seeing on the internet why the AG is not going after them. I would steer as far away from their smooth talking snake oil salesman as possible.

I am just reading this and I was a competittor of World of Windows and by now I am sure you realized that World of Windows in Dallas/Ft.Worth are not the same as Window World. If it was Window World call corporate in Wilkeboro N.C.. Before that lower the top sash and read the numbers on the top of the sash. It will verify which plant made them. If it is a product issue they will send you sashes no questions ask.

Also a monkey can replace the sashes. It is an excellent window and I also used to work for Window World for 6 years and they NEVER ever ignored a complaint. If it was an installation issue again call corporate. They will send out another install crew or will reimburse you for damages. I no longer work there. They have a national BBB rating of A+. 7 complaints NATIONALLY all fixed. Last year I was there they sold 1 million windows so they sell a helluva product at an outragesly low price compared to the competition.

REAL CUSTOMERS, REAL GOOD EXPERIENCES WITH THE COMPANY...

BBB HAS 2 COMPLAINTS ON THEM , ONE RESOLVED AND ONE WHERE THE COMPANY MADE A GOOD FAITH EFFORT TO RESOLVE THE COMPLAINT
THERE YOU GO AGAIN TELLING ONLY THE PARTS OF THE STORY THAT MEET YOUR NEED.
THE TRUTH IS THERE FOR THOSE WHO WANT IT ALL.

Your a funny little man...I answered your questions and even thank you but you want to get into name calling. You do fit the Window World profile...So to once again set your assumptions straight i'm not miserable. God has blessed me in more ways then I can count. I am a consumer, which you are not, of their product. I am warning others of the poor service and quality. I welcomed your option even thou you have no basis. I have found several complaints on the internet about the exact same thing I am warning people about with the poor way Window World does business including one from the BBB for false pricing.
If you pay attention I list the exact problems and that has not changed or varied in my complaint. The story is simple, Poor Product and Poor Service. It goes from the top of the company all the way to the franchise. I'm not sure why you even posted here when you don't have their product. Oh well I hope you the best.

You never mentioned contacting the manufacturer  in the beginning,  just like you never mentioned the fact that the company that charged you for service isnot the ones that did you wrong.
As more advise is given, more truth comes out, if any of this is true at all... Maybe you are a disgruntled employee, or a dumped girlfriend LOL No a person does not have to "look hard" to find a happy Window Wold customer.
I have seen thousands from one store, when I was there 2007-2009.
As I was leaving, things were getting stricter, with more being taken over by the BR office, and l just cant believe that this has happened.
It may have, but still does not represent the company that is there today.
The owner is not my friend, and I dont owe that company anything.
Yes I worked, in Houston, not Dallas.
I have the right to defend the very company your slamming, where your story is not adding up.
This is a public forum, and I am a member.
Your very difficult, as the last person mentioned.
And I can clearly see why someone who is not obligated to help you, isnot helping you.
I am done here.
Stay miserable.

Window World Ripoff

Thank you, I have done everything you mentioned and more. I have dealt with current owner, poor service. I have contacted manufacture and they do not stand behind product. I agree some bad products can get thru, however the install was poor at best and the bad product that got thru was not taken care of by Window World. I am the consumer with a house that has lousy product and lousy follow up service. For anybody reading this, I am a consumer not an employee for the company like others. Thank you again for helping me prove my point that the manufacture will not stand behind product. I also feel that to truly post about a product or service you should at least be a consumer of that product or service instead of a friend or employee of the company selling it. Talk is cheap. The proof is in the product. I think it's great that the company can pitch these sales lines but in my case they are just that sales lines. So after time and time again of me contacting World of Windows / Window World and being told people would call me back and they don't, after sending e-mails that go unanswered I am still stuck with poor quality windows. I can only tell you my situation with Window World. I'm sure if you look hard enough you could find somebody with a positive story that talking from an actual purchase experience. I know World of Windows / Window World has read this Ripoff Report, but again instead of fixing the problem, I still sit here with a lousy product. How about instead of trying to cover it up they fix it! Too Simple.....

DONT GIVE UP ON A GOOD THING

I am currently working for an air conditioning company in Houston, and have been here for 3 years.
When we do an installation, our invoice reflects 2 separate warranties.
The product warranty, which is backed by American Standard.
The labor warranty, which is backed by Air Tech of Houston.
Customers also have the option to purchase a 10 years parts and labor warranty from American Standard. After our in-house labor warranty runs out, and if there is a claim filed under the extended warranty, American Standard pays us to do the work required under the terms of the agreement.

We have lots of customers that have purchased American Standard products from fly-by-night dealers that went under, and are no place to be found when warranty issues arise.
When they call us, the product itself is still under the limited warranty, but we do charge for the labor, as it was not our job to begin with, if they do not have an extended warranty in effect thru the manufacturer, who would pay us when we file claim.
It is a bummer sometimes, going back in after some shoddy installer, and the rates American Standard pays us are far below our standard rates. But whose talking about air conditioning??

So it sounds like to me, that you have product issues. The product manufacturer, in your case, is AMI.
A copy of the written product warranty is available upon request
by writing to Window Warranty Department, P.O. Box 2010, Akron, OH 44309.

As far as the service issue goes, the company that installed your windows is long gone, apparently.
The new owners are not obligated to  honor the warranty of the previous owners.
Thus, you were charged for repairs.
When I was with Window World, (current owner) the installer would be charged back for the damages to your curtains, and you would have been reimbursed.  If those damages did, in fact, occur under the new owners, you may want to look into calling the service department at the Baton Rouge location. If you still have the curtains and if that installer is still working for them, and can be charged-back for the curtains, I truly believe the folks at that location will take care of you.
Then again, if the installer did not produce to the owners expectations, he may be gone.
After all, the Good Book says:
"The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down" (Luke 3:9)

Give these two things a try. You have nothing to lose.
There great windows. Even the largest corporations get them few defective products that make it thru the production line. They generally backup there stuff (example: Ford recalls)

On my first day there, the manager took me and gave me a complete orientation on the product.
The material used for the frame (virgin, as opposed to recycled toilet seats)
The glass (its been awhile, but I believe the standard glass could withstand winds of 75 mph.
The hardware, the sloped seals, the balaces. the screen - I had to know the window (and how it functioned)  intimately, before I could even answer their phones. LOL

I was impressed by the product from day one, and as time went by I was impressed with the quality of service Jim Roland insisted on from his employees.

Not to denounce your experience, but to all others out there:
Imagine the rough, uphill climb, taking over a poorly run business with a less than favorable repor'  But I feel confident that Window World of Dallas will do well and have many happy customers in the near future.
To anyone who has read bad reviews on this location, that were printed prior to the summer of 2011, please take into consideration these are the opinions of consumers who dealt with a totally different company than the one that is running the business today.

World of Windows will not stand behind product

#10Author of original report

Thank you for the information on the current franchise changing ownership and confirming what I said that World of Windows or Window World which every they are going by will not stand behind the product. I filled a complaint with the corporate which they quickly said it's the franchise problem and so I filled a complaint with the franchise who said it was a corporate problem. The local new franchise told me the life time warranty you mentioned was no good that I would have to pay for repairs. So I paid for them to make a couple of repairs and they did more damage. I have seen no difference between franchises and the life time warranty has proved to be nothing more then a scam. Thanks again for your input.

THE GOOD NEWS IS....

THE WINDOW WORLD OF DALLAS/FORTH WORTH HAS BEEN BOUGHT OUT BY A VERY PROMINENT BUSINESSMAN WHO ALSO OWNS THE BATON ROUGE, HOUSTON, FLORIDA, AND PHILADELPHIA STORES.
I WORKED FOR HIM AT THE HOUSTON STORE FOR 2 YEARS, AND THEY HAVE A GREAT DATABASE ( I WISH I COULD GET IN THE COMPANY I AM WITH NOW!) THAT TAKES THE ACCOUNT FROM STAGE TO STAGE UNTIL CLOSED, AND DOES NOR ALLOW CUSTOMERS ISSUES TO GO IGNORED. THEY HAVE WEEKLY SALES MEETINGS, PRODUCTION MEETINGS, AND SERVICE MEETINGS AND THE PEOPLE OVER EACH DEPARTMENT HAVE TO SPEAK UP FOR EVERY SINGLE PENDING ISSUE ON THEIR LIST. THUS , THINGS ARE HANDLED IN A TIMELY MANNER. I AM REALLY SORRY TO HEAR WHAT YOU WENT THRU WITH WINDOW WORLD WHILE RUN BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER, BUT KEEP IN MIND THESE STORES ARE INDIVIDUALLY LICENSED, AND ITS THE MORAL AND DIGNITY OF THE OWNER THAT PASSES DOWN TO THE SERVICE PEOPLE. IF ONLY YOU HAD WAITED ANOTHER YEAR TO GET YOUR WINDOWS INSTALLED, YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY PLEASED. THE PRODUCT ITSELF HAS A LIFETIME WARRANTY, AND THE COMPANY THAT MAKES THEM, IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE... IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THE  REP THAT MEASURED, AND THE INSTALLER  THAT PUTS THEM IN, AS WELL AS TYPE OF PERSON THERE WORKING FOR, AND HOW THAT PERSON CHOOSES TO RUN THERE COMPANY. THE CURRENT OWNER IS VERY INVOLVED, AND RUNS A TIGHT SHIP. I KNOW THIS DOES YOU NO GOOD, AS THE DAMAGE IS DONE IN YOUR CASE, HOWEVER, IT IS NOT NECCESSARILY WINDOW WORLD (THE NAME) THAT SCREWED YOU, IT WAS THE PERSON THAT RAN THAT LOCATION...I HAVE HAD A BAD MEAL IN A FRANCHISE, BUT I DONT KNOCK THE COMPANY NAME, ONLY THE  POOR  MANAGEMENT OF THAT PARTICULAR LOCATION.

I'm very happy they are trying to improve their business. And I'm glad you were taken care of and I would not tell you how they treated you so please don't tell me how they treated me. It is World of Windows also known as Window World that ripped me off. I understand you have a warranty from them today that is different then the extra warranty they sold me and again I would not try and tell you what warranty you got from them so please don't try to tell me what warranty they sold me. I stand by everything I posted and I'm not the only one they have ripped off. You are assuming and we know what that means. I have spoke to them multiple times and my complaints have fallen on deaf ears. You need to stick to stating your facts, I don't need you speaking on my behalf and I won't state the fact that you don't know what a good product or install is.

Window World is WONDERFUL!

Dear Anonymous,

I am a very happy customer of Window World DFW and have referred several of my personal friends and even had my church and the parsonage windows done.   Each of us have seen a noticeable reduction in energy bills in our homes.  Additionally the warranty provided by Window World is by no means a no questions asked warranty (is any warranty?), it clearly states what is covered and what is not (there is no mystery to the warranty).  I'm sorry that your experience with Window World was poor (maybe you have confused them with another company), but we can only speak of the great work they have done for us and for the wonderful people they employ.   This company has been nothing but polite and very helpful to us, so what you state is extremely hard to believe.

I felt compelled to provide a response since this company is very reputable and does a lot for the local community and charities.  For example just last week they replaced an elderly lady's windows in Fort Worth for FREE...this was on the news.   In fact, that's how I came across this posting.  I was searching for updates regarding the elderly lady's home.

With that said, I doubt they would choose to pick one customer (assuming you are) out of thousands and be unfair to them....
