Hired Window World to install 22 windows. Window World hired Philip AKA Sam McCray, sub-contractor to install windows. 3 out of 22 windows are in working order. Snagged my carpet while installing and then lied about it.

Had rep from company come out to look at windows and was informed they were installed incorrectly and poor workmanship! Part Owner Joseph Grasky Has ignored our complaints. Seems once he got our money customer service was no longer a priority.Buyers please spend the extra time to fully investigate these people before hiring them for a job. They have complaints filed against them with the Better Buisness Bureau. Should have checked that first!

The Window World Company is related to the Ownership in Pittsburgh and Youngstown Ohio. The BBB does not always share information with Ohio. Any report you have about the business should be filed in both Locations Ohio and Pa. Window World does NOT manufacturer their own window. The manufacturer is a company call AMI (Associated Materials Incorporated) located in Akron, Ohio. http://www.associatedmaterials.com/index.html Window World uses mostly Sub Contractors to install their windows and also their business practice is to have a some of their salesman do the final measure of your products for ordering (WOW). Improper installation will void the warranty of the window (read the warranty). If the salesman measures wrong, and the installer uses fillers and vinyl pieces to make them work, this could lead to corporate servicemen deeming the windows to be a faulty installation. If you find the Erie offices to be unresponsive contact the Youngstown Office and file with BBB Ohio. Window World Ohio seems to guard their BBB reputation far better in Ohio, than in Western PaSame owners. If after this you are still experiencing problems contact AMI direct.

More Problems.....

Just to clarify on the rebuttal that the owner of "Window World" Joe Garosky has left. Yes, finally after numerous attempts to get the contractors insurance information ,and only to be told by window world that they did not have his current information on file my carpet was finally replaced. The windows were installed on Wednesday August 30th, My carpet was finally replaced on Wednesday September 23rd. 24 days to get it done.Contractor paid out of his pocket because he did not want to turn it into his insurance company. Window World never did give us the insurance information! Now on the date that our windows were installed 2 of the window measurements were wrong. I was assured by Joe that I would have the windows in 2 weeks. As of September 25th windows were still not in, 26 days and still no windows so I canceled our order on them. After all the problems we had with the contractor and the windows we did not want more of them installed. On Friday September 29th the first repairman came out to fix the windows. He found more problems with the windows then we did. He assured me that the windows would be fixed by the following day. Next day he called to say that due to unforseen circumstances that he would not be able to make it and that he would be back on Tuesday October 3rd with the repairman from the manufacturer. True to his word he came. They said that the problem with the windows were due to installation defects and manufacturers defects.(Window world) manufactures their own windows. I was told that I would have the new windows and repairs done in one week. It is now Wednesday October 18th, 15 days later and still no repairs, no windows, and no explanation as to why! I did however recieve a letter from Mr. Garosky today and stated that he is going to try to charge me for the 2 windows that I guess finally came in and that no repairs will be made to the windows that they installed and made incorrectly until I pay for these 2 windows. I honestly cannot believe they have the nerve to expect me to buy more of thier windows after the trouble we have had with these ones! I stress again BUYER BEWARE! Take a look at the Better Buisness Bureau reports they have 12 filed against them so far, Mine will make 13. It does not cost anything to check people out and and trust me it is well worth the time and effort! I would hate to have someone in the postion that we are in now because we did not check them out first!

In response to this complaint, the customer omitted the fact that they had their old carpet replaced with new carpet. They also omitted the fact that Window World sent out a service repair man to correct their installation complaints as well as a factory service technician to correct any product problems. The factory service department has ordered the necessary parts to resolve the customers complaints. Window World would be happy to supply to prospective buyers hundreds of references from satisfied customers.
