Windshield Repair of America employees work at Wash Tub car washes in San Antonio. They solicit windshield "preventative maintence" repairs for alleged chips they see in your windshield.

The next step is having you call your car insurance company. There is no deductible and the claim is absolutely free. However, this is a time consuming waste of a call.

They charge about $100 to your insurance company which is listed on your policy as a comprehensive claim.

I have a flawless driving record. When i recently moved my auto insurance to my home insurance provider, the 2 claims increased my auto premium by $300 per year.

Windshield Repair of America IS A SCAM. The employee at the Wash Tub on 1604 in San Antonio practically harassed me in the process.

Windshield Repair is NOT a rip-off

I do not doubt that you have had a problem with both the sales tactics of the repair technician, and with your insurance company. However, windshield repair is a very effective way to prevent a small chip or crack from getting worse. And the insurance company will waive your deductible in most cases, as it saves them hundreds of dollars over the cost of replacement. I have made literally thousands of repairs over the last 15 years, and I have NEVER been told by my thousands of satisfied customers that their insurance rates went up because of the claim. By the way, Insurance companies pay an average of $50 to repair a windshield, not $100. If there is more than one chip in the windshield, they will pay an additional $10 per chip, maximum three chips TOTAL (or about $70). My suggestion to you is, please find a more reputable insurance company.
