You should notify your local health department and ask for an inspection. You can report this as much as you want online but you have to contact the health department. Check out your local city information to see if there is a number for food safety/handling if not contact the switchboard and see where they send you. Although you will have to give your name when you report it they will not disclose who reported the problem to Winn Dixie.

Disregarding the above statement concerning the most minute detail of the entire account, what the original poster has to say is true, and therefore is void of all "suing" that might take place. With that said, I can vouch for everything that has been said and more. As a cashier and part-time floor worker, I can account for much of the things that enter the store and leave the store, and I must say, there are many things that should do neither.
For instance, employees should not be allowed entry to their workstations when they are contagious. Nothing says contagious like the flu. Now, as a cashier, its bad enough, and while I have never been sick, I do know of three people forced to work while having contracted influenza, one of these people worked in the deli. First of all, that is open food, prepared fresh daily by people who live, talk and breathe around it. Why in the hell are we forcing someone to prepare food for hundreds of people to eat when that person is highly contagious?? Flu infected employees should NOT be forced to come to work, EVER.
Next, I cannot tell you the number of chicken parts that get returned to our store every week because they smell rotten. If I had to guess, I'd say 18 out of 20 packs of chicken. Now, I see this with my own eyes, and I have to carry it back to the meat market for them to do something with it, and I can only hope they don't package it back up and send it out again! Its disgusting! It smells like rotten eggs with a twinge of sour milk; how can a store be happy selling that sort of thing? Its no wonder our store numbers are the lowest in the state! I'm surprised the store hasn't been sued yet.
One thing is for sure, if this air conditioner doesn't get fixed and I pass out I'm suing. I, as an employee there to make customers feel happy and comfortable with perfect hygiene, should NOT have to take ibuprofen EVERY time I come to work because I get a heat headache. I should not have to spend my money on bottles of water just to cool off when I should be cool in the first place. I should not have to apologize on behalf of Shari Jo to the 300 customers that come through my line about the air conditioner not working. Its never been fixed, and I'm sick of it. Finally, I should NOT have to wash my sweat soaked clothes every night because its 80 degrees in the store!
Other things that constantly get returned? Ice cream that's melted and been refrozen, eggs, milk, boxes of ready to bake goods that have spider webs holding the particles together, and so on.
Its unfortunate, but I feel like nothing is going to get fixed until someone takes action against this store via someone getting deathly sick or someone having a heat stroke.

Well are you the internet attorney or something? Lets see if you can tolerate a hateful boss for a hateful company for that long. I only speak the truth, you can't draw blood out a turnip, especially an impoverished worker who never gets ahead. So let them try it,they will spend more money trying to get nothing from me. Thank you

I will continue to blog and slander this company until I see a difference made and something done about this devil-witch of an employer
- Slander is SPOKEN, Libel is WRITTEN. Slander and Libel both deal with FALSE representations. So by you posting that statement you have just admited that you are lying.
From nolo.com
libel-
An untruthful statement about a person, published in writing or through broadcast media, that injures the person's reputation or standing in the community. Libel is a tort (a type of civil wrong), and the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. Libel and slander (an untruthful statement that is spoken, but not published in writing or broadcast through the media), are both considered forms of defamation.
slander-
An untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because slander is a tort (a civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. If the statement is made via broadcast media -- for example, over the radio or on TV -- it is considered libel, rather than slander, because the statement has the potential to reach a very wide audience. Both libel and slander are forms of defamation. (See also: defamation)
- So I do hope you get a good attorney. A DEFENSE attorney for when you get sued.
