Ms. Jerrilynn Thomas, Founder of Women Partner International became acquainted to me in the way business is being done today-via social networking.  Through this new medium, no one truly knows who they are dealing with, and one sometimes does go with their "gut instincts" and "good faith in fair business dealings" knowing that what goes around comes around.

I am a Career Management Coach that specializes in HR Practices and Corporate Responsibility, Appreciative Inquiry and Ethical treatment of others.  In this vein, I put faith in joining her network after months of her continual marketing efforts that were incessant.  Her original email to me is offset below in which, she denies recruiting me (which I find ubsurd):

Happy Holidays Everyone,

With less than 15 days left until 2009, it's imperative that you surround yourself NOW with not only like-minded individuals but with business owners whose companies complement yours so you can hit the ground running on Jan. 1 with a new infusion of clients. Collaboration will be the theme of 2009.

WomenPartner International has 4 niche cross marketing groups -- Business Growth Group, Real Estate Professionals & Support Group, Authors, Publishers & Speakers Group, and Online Business Development Group -- with additional groups in development for millionaire minded businesswomen. Women can instantly plug their company into them to leverage the client base of complementary business and professional women so they can increase their client base together in 2009.

The groups will be comprised of 10 complementary women owned companies chaired by 4 power house business women. The groups will develop cross marketing projects that allow them to tap into each others client base, share advertising space in womens business journals, split the cost of expo booths, invest in niche direct mail campaigns, and much more.

Cross marketing projects for all of the groups are already in place so women can jump in with both feet and start the New Year on top. Lock your group spot in today during our Millionaire Minded Businesswoman Holiday Drive before your competition does.

If you are a business or professional woman who believes that you can build a $1 million + business in this economy by collaborating with complementary companies, WomenPartner International is ready to collaborate with you to make your business dreams come true in 2009.

I have been ramping up my business from that timefram from this original communication so, have not been ready to make any decisions whatsoever to join her group.  I therefore knew she existed, continually received her emails for almost a full year, and some I answered, some I deleted, and then around a month ago, which brings the timeline to July 20, 2009, she sent me this email--the call to action:

In a message dated 7/20/2009 7:24:38 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes:

Hi Renee,

I'm doing an end of the day roundup for women interested in reserving
their category in WomenPartner International.  I'm putting together
two groups this month and then I will close the reservation page.
This means two women per category from different states or
international metro areas have the opportunity to get involved in the
first round of reservations.

Since the categories are first come first serve and I only have one
coaching spot left, I recommend you quickly get your spot locked in.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Her process slowly started to unfold, this "seemingly, sweet-voiced, southern lady" over the telephone telling me about how I was going to be partnered with other professionals seemed plausible, and perhaps is, yet, the parts that I had trouble wrapping my arms around and were not transparent to me was the formula for our success.  Now, she claimed to us this was not a networking forum, so, she removes herself from the expense equation calling us a consortium of women who all "share" the cost of advertising.  I then started to ponder most recently, as things got harder for me to work when my both parents became sicker, and upon returning from a business trip, my Mother needed immediate attention, that I had to get her to a doctor fast--this was September 28, 2009 that I knew I could not be continuing to give Jerrilynn my credit card to punch in all sorts of differing dollar amounts that seemed discretionary and at a variable and not fixed rate--which became unnerving to me, dealing with my situation at hand.

I had told Jerrilynn only a week earlier, the week of September 14th, things were becoming harder and harder for me to consider going through Orientation with her.  I was told only recently that the $249 that I paid her by both paypal and google, and never received a copy of a contract nor a book, or a receipt or anything, not even a welcome packet, just that her "good faith" that she would help us to create "goody boxes" so that each of the regional area pilot groups would go out, with their own promotional materials, cross-market each other, at each other's events that they pay for on their own dime and that they belong to at their own cost, and that Ms. Jerrilynn Thomas, just keeps recruiting women, and creating new groups world-wide, like a "ponzi-scheme" of sorts, in which it appears she has figured out a method of creating a million dollars as each woman pays her $249, she uses all social networking, which is available to us too for practically nothing--don't need her for that, and she allows the 10 of us in our cluster groups to go crazy interviewing women, going out with goody boxes, busting our humps, and then, she continues to charge us an administrative $17.95 per month for God only knows what that affords us, and then, she can discretionarily "pull the plug" on any of her "ladies" as she "so politely puts it", after syphoning our monies, just as an arbitrary thing, if she feels we are not pulling our weight.

As you can see, this is the part that became nerve wracking for me, since, I knew that "pulling my weight" with 2 sick parents, a new business to market not only for myself, but for 9 other women that I am accountable to, but that Ms. Thomas also calls upon "her ladies" to recruit other women into the network so that she can collect their $249 as Pilot Members.  She told me, "I don't refund your money--its on my website."  I was never directed to that area on her website, as her website kept changing as implementations were constantly changing over time with "facelifts" probably based off of the money she was collecting from "her ladies."  Therefore, as an attachment, you will see what I was given each time I was told to pay her and fast, and that no where on this area did it refer to a non-refundable policy.  She also knows, and has multiple emails where I tell her I could not attend Orientation, and did not attend, and she told me, "your Orientation is what the $249 was for--I get paid for a service."  I reminded her of that in my last email to her, and she blocked me on all social networking and told me never to email her again--because she knows she is wrong.  First of all, you charge women to instruct them how to use your website that is inferior, difficult to navigate, and she even noticed, I never even registered at the site on the date of my "orientation"--my one and only orientation early September--which only further proves, I paid her for absolutely nothing, plus $17.95 with the $249.

She is money-crazed and not a woman of ethics.  I could not get through to her that I was telling her the truth, would provide medical certification on both my Parents in good faith dealings, and she called me a liar.  I am infuriated and now was left with nothing else to do but forewarn other unsuspecting women like me that this woman has an operation that she is running that is unscrupulous in the way that she perceives her "services" when, she performed no advertising for me--and claimed that I got 3 ads.  I was on her site for less than 2 weeks.  She is clearly trying to comb and scour the earth for as many women to get ad space on her site and charge them, her own cluster women and ad space purchasing business owners, and this is how she claims that "she is going to be a freight train to cross market businesses as a one-stop-shop."

Whether she knows it or not, that is what networking does.  If she thinks that her very lame website that I could hardly open and click into is going to be "the wizard of oz" in creating this magical connection to find a brain, heart, courage, for anyone landing in your town, she is sadly mistaken.  I see what she is doing, she is creating a lot of hype and collecting a lot of money, and making the women in her network go crazy with obligation and writing, and promoting and paying and spending and its too much to deal with for anyone!

I need your help in recouping my losses.  I am a Solopreneur and Ms. Thomas has not dealt with me with integrity.  She treated me like "a sister" and turned on me like "an enemy" telling me "I bailed on her."  What part of my parents are sick do you not get?  She is selfish, and she is a mercenary.  This type of behavior is what got America into trouble--a capitalistic mentality.  I do not support her in any way and fear for others that stop to listen.  She is like a siren playing on people's weaknesses.  Buyer beware!
