Complaint Review: World Nails and Spa - Green Bay Wisconsin

Calvin and Kris (aka Nghiem Phan and Thao Pham) are owners of  the "family owned" salon known as World Nails and Spa on Lime Kiln Rd and Allouez Ave. Kris has a good memory so she would know who are the regular customers and who are the good tippers. Kris would steal all the good customers and divide it among her family and friends. Calvin and Kris would be unfair to other customers with appointments by taking in their favorite customers first and then lie to the poor customers, who've been waiting for more than half an hour after their initial appointment, that the customer they took has already made an appointment and is late. If new customers tip less than $5, she would overcharge them from the original price she has told the customer prior to working on them.

They would hire Vietnamese workers from California and have the new hired employee fly out to WI. They would utilize apartment business and their employees by renting a two bedroom apartment close to their business. The two bedroom apartment has everything included except electricity for $575 while Calvin and Kris are charging the employees $500 each, and they have to share rooms. Due to their extreme paranoia they had fired and hired so many nail technician and receptionist in order to cover up their secrets and deceptions of their shady business practices. They would pay all their family and friends cash so that they don't have to report anything to the IRS and pay other employees check. They've refuse to pay many
employees of their earnings before they flew back to CA, therefore, Calvin and Kris had had the police visit them a couple of times. Calvin's brother Eric (aka Quoc Phan) is a womanizer who would harass and have had affairs with married women working for them. Calvin and Kris would have anyone that isn't a friend or family member of theirs give away free services while still taking 40-50% of their paychecks without compensation for the work and the assigned cleaning duties given to each employee (except family and
friends).

The owners had terminated an elder lady working for them that arrived from CA because she refuses to use the razor on a customer due to the fact that using the razor to remove thick calluses on the feet is illegal in the state of WI.

Calvin and Kris "sells nail license" for $2,700 and an extra $300 if I want the cosmetology license that covers everything. Calvin mentioned that his older brother have recently purchased two licenses in Milwaukee and that his brother Eric is friends with the person on the cosmetology board that makes it happen.

They would serve red and white wine to customers without a legal liquor license and would not inquire for IDs before serving customers. There are many underage that has been served because they didn't want to loose
customers. Worst of all, customers are oblivious that the "license" hanging on the wall behind the front desk is actually a self made license and not the legit license issued by the State Board of WI.

The business reputation has been built through the many loyal and hard working employees they've fired unfairly. Calvin and Kris are superstitious so when they hired an acquaintance of mine (without my
knowledge), they wanted to fire her once they had found out she was 3 months pregnant. She quit eventually, due to the hostility of Calvin and Kris. I'm one of those  unfailry terminated employee who looked up to them. The couple's only "rational" excuse to all of those whose been terminated is that "our services were poor" and "many complaints came from the customers." It's funny, because everyone Calvin and Kris fired has been told the same, even the receptionists. When customers asked for those fired technicians, Calvin and Kris' most favorite and common excuses to tell customers are, "oh customers were complainging about them" or " they don't work here anymore." If customers ask them if those
technicians would return to work again, they'd say " Yes, next summer because that person is going to school." But no body returns after being terminated because it's such a hostile and stressful environment.

The owner Calvin and Kris would go as far lying about their relationship as a couple together when truth is, Calvin's a homo still in the closet.

Both Calvin and Kris' mood swings would affect the earnings of honest and hard working employees just because they felt moody or because Calvin lost a lot of money gambling at the casino the night before.

They really enjoyed inflicting misery on everyone that has worked along side with them.
