I drive a 1999 Audi A4 1.8t Quattro, there is a loud clunk coming from the front end of my car. I brought my car into an Audi dealer, the shop mechanic performed an inspection on my vehicle and found that all the front control arms were bad and had malfunctioned. Audi U.S.A. calls this type of problem a "control arm failure". The Audi shop that I brought my car to says that it is a hazard to drive due to the extremely bad condition of the control arms. On my Wynn's contract it states that control arms ARE covered, however, when the Warranty Inspector came to inspect my control arm issue, he claimed that it was the ball joint that failed.

After filing his report with Wynn's Extended Care, Inc., Wynn's then called the Audi shop where my car was and said that the repair would not be covered because it was the ball joint that failed, and that "we don't cover ball joints". The Audi shop explained to Wynn's that the ball joint is part of the control arm, that it is an inseperable unit, and that you can not buy just one or the other, it is one piece, which is called the CONTROL ARM. By Wynn's saying that they don't cover control arms goes against what is stated in my contract.

In my contract there is a section called "EXCLUSIONS-WHAT THIS CONTRACT DOES NOT COVER", ball joints are not listed in this section anywhere. The way Audi sees it is that when there is a Ball Joint issue, it is the control arm, and Control Arms are covered by my contract.
