I purchased a used VW Touareg in August 2013 and included a Wynn's Extended Care Warranty at a cost of $1740.00. After a year I began to experience transmission trouble. I took the VW to Aamco. Two days later the problem had been diagnosed. Aamco servicee mgr mentioned, "some of these warranty companies don't like to pay claims." What an understatement that turned out to be.

Aamco contacted Wynns in an attempt to open a claim. The claims adjuster simply denied the claim stating, "Aamco could not provide proof of the transmission failure." Completely untrue statement by Wynns. Wynns even refused to send out a field inspector.

I contacted Wynns customer service and was simply read the statement put into the file byb the claims rep, "Aamco could not provide proof of trans failure. Claim denied." The claims adjuster would never return my calls.

After getting nowhere on the phone I drafted a letter explaining the events that had taken place, symptons my vehicle exhibited, tests Aamco had completed and the solution to the problem. I made sure to put it int writing that Wynns had refused to inspect the vehicle.

Aamco received a second denial of claim phone call from the Wynn's claim rep. I sent a second letter via fax explaining that I would instruct Aamco to commence repairs in 5 days. If Wynns still had no interest in resolving the situation I would retain counsel.

Wynns ignored my request. Repairs completed by Aamco. I paid the bill and retained counsel. The attornney wrote a letter to Wynns - sent certified and via fax. The attorney received a call the next day. Wynns requested Affidavits from myself and Aamco explaining that the problem had been satisfactorily repaired. The attorney prepared one for me. Aamco refused to provide an Affidavit but instead provided a letter explaining the same information. Wynn's paid for most of the repairs within 4 days.

In researching Wynns Extended care now Phoenix Extended Care I find that they deny most claims filed. I am not an attorney but would welcome the opportunity to participate in a Class Action Suit against these folks.
