I'm a single parent with 4 kids and just lost my job 1/2/2007 (I've been their for fifteen years, what a way to start a new year, huh). A new year to start with clean slate.
I was interested in starting my own business on line so i started doing research on it and now I am at the point of getting my license. I didn't know anything about how to get file and get it. I was told you could get on the internet. So I looked and found this web site. I read through it over and over and it states you can get your license through them.
So I purchased a business license for 99.99 and a tax I.D for 49.99 the total of 149.98. I thought they fill out the papers and file them for you. Boy I was surprised when all they did was email me the papers that i needed and send an extra 135.00 for "supposable tax purposes".
I finally called the number that was on the paper for City Of Tracy and asked how much was it to get a license. She told told me 135.00 dollars for business license (seller permit) and Tax I.D. I told her about the this Web site and she looked into it and called me back and said that what they are doing is just filling out the forms for you. She also said that they are charging what the city is charging and I could of avoided that if I just went down there.
So basicly they're charging me double to get a license when I could of just went to the Tracy courthouse and filled them out myself with their help for just 135.00. Not 149.98 + 135.00. I emailed them back:
To Whom it may concern,
I had just recently ordered a business license and tax I.D number and you charged me 150.00 dollars. This is false pretense and false advertising. According to your web site you generally ask what type of license you are applying for when you should be asking what license paper work do you need us to service you with.
After I just received your email with the paper work you just filled out, NOT FILED for me.I called the the Tracy court house asking about the tax papers you sent sent me. Because it was under my impression that you were filing them and paying them to get my business license. APPARENTLY NOT! I talked to manager of the dept. and she told me that I could of just went down and paid them the 135.00 and that was it.
So basically I'm paid you 149.98 just to fill in my name on the blank piece of paper that the city of Tracy provides you anyway. You need to let the public know what type of services you provide. This is false pretense and false advertising. I want to know how could I get my money back or you file the paper work for me with the money I gave you. If not I'll see you in court.

Before you go any further and don't know anything about certain subject pertaining to business don't waste any money on web sites for information call them and ask question or go to a chat area that has a business chat room and ask there. You shouldn't be waisting your money on information you know already. Be careful.
