XM Satellite Radio Inc Unlawful sales tactics Detriot, Michigan
it's hard to purchase a new vehicle these days without it delivered with XM or Sirius satellite radio activated for an initial 3-month period. that is my story.
I did not bother to renew XM radio services and let it expire. I was hounded by their marketing to get me to renew.. now understand they deactivate services immediatley upon on renewal. I told them on the phone when called to get me to renew that i was not interested and would not renew. Subsequently I received a letter asking why not. I replied no interest and would not renew at any price.
To coerce subscribers who opt out by not renewing they asses a renewal charge and send it to a collection agency as an unpaid debt owed; using the Collection agency (EOS CCA) which then hounds you with telephone calls demanding renewal for the unpaid renewal fees. Ignoring their pre-recorded messages, I received a bill from collection agency stating I owed the renewal fee. In teh billing notice it states: "AM Satellite radio has asked us to help in re-establishing your radio service..." so you can see how undr handed XM has become.. will not take no for an answer and will sick a "debt dog" on you just to renew at their inflated rates. G-D them and all the car makers that include radio services whether you wish or not. Ihope to see a class action suit emerge that puts the bast'ds out of business, maybe then a more reputable and honest firm will take over.
